Bush spent HALF A BILLION DOLLARS to kill al-Zarqawi
How terrorist went down
Inside tips and spiritual adviser led to air attack that finished off al-Zarqawi
June 9, 2006
BY HAMZA HENDAWI and JIM KRANE, ASSOCIATED PRESS

BAGHDAD, Iraq -- ... Wednesday's air strike ended a hunt that involved hundreds of soldiers, spies, tipsters and intelligence analysts and cost more than $500 million, said Ed O'Connell, a retired Air Force intelligence officer who led manhunts for Osama bin Laden and top insurgents in Afghanistan, Iraq and Yemen.

On Thursday, U.S. officials were eager to prove they got their man. Fingerprints, tattoos and scars all helped confirm the identity.

Al-Zarqawi's Al Qaeda in Iraq group issued a Web statement confirming his death.

1. Didn't 'spend', he stole it from the American People for his pals
And he got a lot of American troops killed and maimed in the process. Made a few million new enemies for the US too.

The Worst Terrorists in the World? Dick Cheney and his puppet.

2. not to mention -- bush MADE zarqawi.
now zarqawi would probably have been a terrorist -- but the illegal iraq war made zarqawi more than that nutty boy could have ever imagined.

and gave him career in the business of terrorism that without the war he would never have had.

i wondered yesterday about how much the two bombs cost -- because i'm a believer in meaning.

and i find meaning in zarqawi's ability to go free for so long -- i find meaning in the incompetence we're showing in iraq{anybody think china and russia are noticing as well} -- it was a fore gone conclussion that zarqawi was fated to meet a violent end -- but to evade it for so long and at a cost like this?

little victory there if you ask me -- and i think that's how history will view it as well.

4. One killed.....thousands created
The cost is appalling but may have been worth it if the outcome really did something to help in the "fight against terrorism." But the illegal, immoral attack on Iraq, the mishandling of the war (esp. Abu Ghraib) has created thousands of terrorists. So forgive me if I don't dance in the streets because we caught one. My children's children and perhaps their children as well, will be paying for this war, in more ways than one.

8. Every penny maybe
but the blood of one innocent killed by us or him negates all that. Zarquawi wouldn't have had the opportuinty to start his reign of terror if we didn't all but invite him to.
