1. This is what today's Republican party, represented by Ann Coulter
wants and appreciates - blatant disregard for life other than their upper-middle and upper class white lives.

It was inappropriate, but I found it slightly amusing. I guess I am a bad person.

27. The Post ALWAYS has headlines like this - it's not like a "serious" paper
like the New York Times is.

31. Don Asmussen ("Bad Reporter") apparently found the idea amusing too.
(And so did I, at least in Asmussen's spin of it.)

5. Gee - hate much?
Good God, what tripe.

Let's see how much MORE we can piss off people from other religions - how much MORE we can pit our fundamentalists against their fundamentalists to start the End Times.

10. Remember the outrage
after 9/11 when we saw footage of people dancing in the streets? What, does our nation have the time span of the guy from "Memento," or are just that high from huffing hypocrisy? Sure, the Middle East will probably think that's cool. Glad to see the only true Christian in the nation is Michael Berg.

edit to add: but they've been dead a LOOOOOOONG time. Perhaps "Warm up the body bags for the shriveled remains" is more appropriate,,,

But how is this any different from the beheading videos and what happened in Somalia? We're constantly talking about how disgusting it is when the bad guys exploit American deaths yet we have no trouble doing the same.

How disgusting. Zarqawi was supposedly the monster, but as a collective, are we Americans that much different? WTF has happened to this country???? We are looking like a bunch of facist degenerates.

18. These Conservatives have a loathing for women. Even as they have
so many "self loathing" women in their ranks who do battle for them. It's a peculiar kind of conservative psyche. But, having grown up around them and observed them....and how they hated the womens rights movement one could always scratch the surface and see the hatred. These days the hatred is out there for all of us to see.

I don't think I've ever seen a more offense display of what these people running our country and the media are all about that this cover of the NYPost. I almost thought it was some cruel joke.

that they won't get one.

All things being equal, how many women would "choose" cruel men. It seems like the reverse of the supply and demand thing with an automatic protection racket in play. It seems prepubescent, not fully mature or human. There seems to be a resentment of unattached women, that they don't belong to anyone, that they shouldn't be free (like slaves being free, preposperous) and thus by existing escape the boundaries of definition.

Sorry, mumbled-up response, but something in your post triggered a response...it could have been the sig line...

on edit: it's the useless cruelity that is appalling

19. On another note,
How much are all these broadcasters and publishing companies
going to get fined for showing such graphic material, or do we
have to believe that a nipple is more disturbing than a dead
body?

If they were going to fix his photo with a computer to be more convincing, shouldn't they have changed the background? Or did the "professionals" just work on his face where he laid?? Just asking?

28. "Why do we hate us?"
I hate this representation of what I, as an individual citizen of America, would either condone, or agree with-

Fuck the media- fuck the hate- perhaps the worlds biggest evil is the speed at which words and thoughts that should never be given the time of day, are given hours of coverage, and eternal repetition.

Americans point to the cheering and dancing of some Arab women after 9/11 and say 'look at the kind of people THEY are'-

And the Muslims will see this kind of crap and say "Look at the kind of people THEY are".

If we ever dared to really look at the way the media uses us to incite hatred and bigotry, we'd truly be outraged, and perhaps even furious enough to come up with a way of fighting THIS kind of 'war'- and manipulation.

I'm so ashamed- and angry.
