The photo of the dead Zarqawi was photo-shopped...
Edited on Fri Jun-09-06 10:20 AM by kentuck
Look at the photo with his Angeline Jolie-lips after they "fixed" him up. His head is still in the dirt. Would they not have picked him up out of the dirt to "clean" him up? Zarqawi may be dead but you are being lied to...by your government. Believe your government at your own peril.

4. Why ?
Why would it need to be photo-shopped? Was he not identifiable with his "wounds"?

6. Well, let's see if I can string this together correctly.....
....dude in said uniform said something to the effect that 'yea, Zarqawi might not have respected human life, bla bla, we didn't think it was good to show him all bloody and torn up, etc etc etc'....so....in order to make him more presentable and as to not offend the sensitivities of the American public, they cleaned him up and photoshopped him.....to make him more 'appealing'.....

7. uh...ok...
that's good enough for the Geneva Convention, that's good enough for me. I just do not like the lies from our government. Why do we have to see the picture at all? is my question.

11. Why didn't they just photo-shop a head of Elvis on the body?
And we could stop even more conspriacy theories.

reporting from Iraq.

QUESTION: Two quick questions. How can you be sure that Zarqawi died as a result of the wounds he received from the explosion without a formal autopsy?

And secondly, when you were cleaning him up did you have to Photoshop his face or anything to make him more recognizable for the picture?

CALDWELL: To take your second question first, yes, his face was very, very bloodied. And we made a conscious decision that if we were going to take photographs of him and make them available publicly like we did in the press conference that we were going clean him up.

Despite the fact that this person actually had no regard for human life, we were not going to treat him in the same manner. And so, they did clean his face up for the shots that were shown publicly.

As far as the autopsy goes, I know that there was, quote, "an autopsy" done, but I'll go back and make sure it was performed by the certified kind of person that we're supposed to have so we can call it an autopsy and make sure I'm exactly correct before I tell you that.

3. Supposedly, he died on a stretcher. Why would you put him back
on the ground to take his picture?

10. CNN is actually asking about this
Some of the questions include:

When and where did he die?
What condition was the rest of his body in? (answer: severe trauma to the back of the head and the chest)
What parts did they use to do match up the fingerprints? (how's that for an odd question? I would assume a *gasp* finger)
Why does his face look so good after being bombed?
What happens next?

:wtf:

I don't know what to make of CNN actually asking these questions. If I didn't know any better, I would think this Zarqawi person was a blonde chick missing in Cuba.

One more thing...aparently they're going to also do a DNA test to make sure it's Zarqawi.

15. Maybe some of the Press guys in that bunch........
......are wondering about the same things we are. Maybe they turned a bit skeptical after 4 years of lies - who knows. Maybe they are wondering, just like I am, why Zarqawi's corpse looks like its been taken out of the freezer of some morgue and why they decided to take it out of the freezer NOW and present it to us....

19. but but but....
that would mean they're actually curious! Who knew THAT could happen? There are many reasons to be skeptical but I didn't expect the MSM to actually ask questions...they seem to be so content being spoon fed.

12. Kentuck, no offense, but every published photo is touched up.
Models, consumer goods, everything.

Hell, you don't think a Whopper really looks like the picture, do you?

Just because the photo was touched up does not mean it was altered materially.

You are just assuming that.

14. But the touched up photo should at least resemble somewhat the first?
Don't you agree? Look at those lips. Those are his trademark - just like Angeline. It is meant to deceive. It is propaganda. It doesn't matter to me if Zarqawi is dead. I hate to see so many people fall for the government lies.

20. If the second picture is
derived from the first, sure.

But if we're talking about the same two pictures, they're not the same. They were at different camera angles.

Different light and some water can account for most of the differences in the face.

before they present it to us. I still don't understand why now? I've also been reading that big daddy bush is the one pushing for Rumsfelds resignation. I got the impression he was somehow behind the eight retired generals speaking out recently. Would they have done this to make it look like old rummy was going out on a high note?

22. AP Says "Zarqawi lived briefly after attack...and was on a stretcher.....
:eyes: Yeah...right. They cleaned him up while he was on the stretcher then dumped him in the dirt when he tried to get off the stretcher and he just managed to fall into a spot where it looked like blood had pooled around his head for the photo. Sheesh... it does cause one to question..

--------------------------------------------------------
Zarqawi lived briefly after attack

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A mortally wounded Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was still alive and mumbling after American airstrikes on his hideout and tried to get off a stretcher when he became aware of U.S. troops at the scene, a top military official said Friday.
