DU This Doonesbury Poll -- Get to Work ASAP

In a recent Rolling Stone piece, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. asks "Was the 2004 Election Stolen?" and answers in the affirmative: "There was a massive, concerted, deliberate effort by high level Republican Party officials to fix the election in Ohio." We turn to DTH readers for some perspective.

What’s the most disturbing aspect of this story?

== That people believe it. Yes, Ohio voting was a mess and we need reform PDQ, but even Dems, WaPo and the NYT backed away from this festering swamp of paranoia. "Kerry won" is a cry for help. Bobby, we're worried about you.

== That people don't believe it. Ballot boxes stuffed, voting machines manipulated, impossible poll discrepancies, intimidation of Dem voters, not to mention the machinations of GOP Secretary of State Ken Blackwell. Wake up, people -- not only could the Bushies steal another election, they did.

Results are interesting, if somewhat predictable. More "indys" than dems think the election results were bs.

As of right now, 52% of the "GOPers" are indicating that they believe the Bushies stole the election -- I'm not ready to believe that a majority of Republicans believe it was stolen.

How many GOPpies do you know read Doonesbury? I don't blame them. How would you like to be insulted every morning?

Did anyone else notice how few GOPpers apparently read Doonesbury? When I voted, there were only 23 votes as compared to the literal hundreds for all other affiliations.

If ever the GOP street ever needed to get a dose of reality on how utterly ridiculous their leaders sound, now is the time. Forget the election, just get your conservative friends to read Doonesbury from here until November and we'll have a lock on every closely contested election.

Just kidding. We all know the GOP street considers Trudeau the Antichrist.

sure it's "unscientific" but then again GOPers don't believe in science.

What is scary to me is that so many people still apparently believe that electioln fraud can't happen here. These are the same people who believe that there is no way this country could start an illegal, immoral war, that soldiers in wartime would never go off and start killing civilians, and that Bush is an honest, God-fearing Christian. These are dark times for democracy in this country.
