Dixie Chicks Address Tour Issue To Their Fans
From the Dixie Chicks website:

June 9, 2006
MESSAGE FROM NATALIE, EMILY & MARTIE:

To our Fans:
Any reports being made about the cancellation of our upcoming Accidents And Accusations tour are completely false.

We have known since March 2003 that our path in this business would have obstacles at every pass. We have enjoyed meeting each one head-on and we will continue to do so. Dixie Chicks fans are as active and dedicated as they come. This time around we are willingly feeling our way through unchartered territory. Things don't come as easy as they might have come in the past, and it makes each accomplishment more exciting and appreciated.

We will go where the fans are with great anticipation and no regrets. To find out (along with us) where that is, visit www.dixiechicks.com for all updates to Accidents And Accusations tour information.

Love, The Chicks

4. Their new CD is one of my current favorites.
I listen to it frequently!

I won't get to one of their shows, but I'll certainly support them. Go Dixie Chicks!

5. I like the new CD, but I'm not sure I can be in a stadium of country fans
I just don't like country music in general, though I would guess that a lot of progressives would be in Boston for their concert. Anyone want to encourage me to go? :D

7. They really aren't a country band
I hate country music yet I have been a fan of the Chicks since their first CD. Their harmonies are the best in the business, IMO. And much of their music has more of a blues flavor than country.

If I could go, I would. But they will be here while I am in Crawford in August.

8. I know in Portland, they aren't getting any airplay
I haven't heard them once on the radio since the release of the new cd. How can they sell out stadiums when they are blacklisted?
I got my tickets though and will go in November!

9. That's Their Biggest Dilemma
No stations are playing them. They previously were getting Country radio airplay, but they've dumped them. And the mainstream stations don't have them on their playlists.

There are some nice songs on the album, but if they don't get airplay, it's like the music doesn't exist. Especially for anyone who does not have the album.

It is a real shame. I hope they maintain their composure and this doesn't end up destroying them in the long term. They are being beaten down, and must remain strong.

10. How hard is Target working for them?
Target is promoting the tour. Mrs Fish had a hard time finding the CD in our local store
