Yes Mr. President, Colin Powell told the UN Zarqawi had a leg removed...
...in a Baghdad hospital which proved his involvement with Saddam Hussein. That was part of the reason Powell gave for us having to invade Iraq.

So just how many legs did this man al-Zarqawi who was killed the other day have for the record?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the question no reporter will ever ask Chimpy. Not even the ones you like. No Dem's will bring it up either?

Why is that? Whats going on here?

I would have thought KO would have mentioned this inconsistency by now but even he hasn't?

2. I was asking that question
a couple of weeks ago when the gun jamming video surfaced. At the end, it showed zarqawi walking away, there was even a shot of his feet which Jon Stewart put up as a freeze frame and made some comment on the brand of sneakers zarqawi was wearing.

3. We have always been at war with East Asia. Goldstein has always had
2 legs. There are 3 lights.

4. Even if the question IS asked, I don't expect an honest response.

5. No matter how they answer it, they are in trouble. That's why it hasn't
been asked imo. They have been asked been asked before to explain this very important discrepency in one of the most important claims Colin Powell made to the UN.

This is how Wilkerson tried to explain it:

In fact, by 2004, officials in the Pentagon and elsewhere were sheepishly acknowledging that, well, OK, maybe Zarqawi's leg was never amputated after all. Here's what Powell's former aide, Lawrence Wilkerson, said about it all on Nov. 27, 2005, in the New York Daily News:

But Powell was skeptical, Wilkerson recalled. He said the peg leg tale - now believed to be untrue - proved in hindsight "how little we knew about the man."

"There just seemed to be no direct evidence making him an Al Qaeda member and quite a bit of evidence that demonstrated he was doing his own thuggish thing," Wilkerson said.

It's a very important question, and a dead Zarqawi may be more of a problem to THIS administration, than a live one. His body itself can prove or disprove one of the most important claims they used to justify this war. I hope the question is asked.

8. I believe that the "mistake" about his leg came after they decided
Edited on Fri Jun-09-06 01:31 PM by OmmmSweetOmmm
to make him into another Emmanuel Goldstein and after his first reported death in which it was said he couldn't get away from a bombing in the north because of his prothesis. There was a document signed by a group of insurgents that declared Zarqawi died then, at the very beginning of the war.
The article appeared on CNN, AP etc. back in 2004.

13. Mmm, someone needs to do a timeline of all this with their comments
at the time. If that event happened at the beginning of the war, that would have been in 2003 ~ But they claimed he was the terrorist in the Nick Berg video, which was a year later, in 2004. I have a feeling they think people are too stupid to remember their lies, so there's no real plan in place, they just lie as the need arises.

Take Ray McGovern's question to Rumsfeld. Everyone I know remembers Rumsfeld's claims about knowing where the WMDs were, yet he totally denied saying what he said when confronted with. This is a habit they've developed because the Press never pushes them once they deny something. Ray McGovern was not the press, so Rummy was made to look like a fool. If only that would happen every day *sigh*

Now, there are two questions I would like to ask Rumsfeld:

1) Why did you say in Oct. 2004 that Al Zarqawi was NOT Al Queda and may in fact have belonged to a rival group? But now you are telling us he was a top Al Queda operative? (providing him with his own words of course, which are on the record)

and ...

2) Mr. Rumsfeld, there has been controversy over whether or not Zarqawi had one or two legs. Now that he is dead, what is the answer to that question?

If he says 'two' ~ then the very next question ought to be ~

3) How do you think the American people should feel about news that another one of the major justifications for the war in Iraq , has now been proven false??

4) The Democrats have demanded hearings into the failure of the pre-war 'intelligence' but Republicans are blocking those hearings. Will you be supporting them? Will the president?

He should be grilled and grilled ~ it is simply infuriating to see them lie and get people killed, and make fools of the AMerican people, and not to even have to work hard to do it ~

went into every itsy bitsy detail of everything Al Gore said and if he made one little tiny tiny mistake, it was blown up to kingdom come.

9. Maybe Heather Mills McCartney visited Zarqawi
and gave him one of her artificial legs on one of her land mine tours.

I'm sorry! Don't flame. That's what popped in to my mind. I know, I know, it's awful.

10. He regenerated a leg like some reptiles regenerate their tails, OK?
Stop asking legitimate questions and celebrate the false victory over propaganda stunt al-Zarqawi!

Even Swamp Thing regenerated an arm with the help of sunlight.

I believe.

12. the leg story is confused at best
the DOD backed off on the lost leg story

everyone knows Powell lied his ass off, so they'll just treat this like another lie in a litany of lies

I think there once was a Zarqawi who was an Islamic fundamentalist.

Long ago, the "real" Zarqawi either died or became irrelevant, but the "brand" lived on, relentlessly marketed as a symbolic boogeyman by the DOD Rumsfeld faction. At various times, some poor schmuck who bore any resemblance to the original got his picture passed around as part of the DOD's current "new and improved" brand identification campaign.

Almost all the high profile atrocities in Iraq, videotapes released by the "terrorists," etc. are actually psy ops activities conducted byt Murkans and Brits. The poor schmuck who posed as "Zarqawi" for the recent propaganda films was whacked and his photo beamed all over the world.

I will not be surprised at all if in a few months, a page E-39 little article discloses that this wasn't Zarqawi at all. Even if that doesn't happen, they'll start marketing a new boogeyman soon.

The boogeyman is dead! Long live the boogeyman.
