I just heard on CNN that during the DeLay farewell address, AT LEAST two dozen Democrats actually walked out of the proceedings: Was it the smell or were they simply sick of hearing Republican lies?

Besides, he'll soon be a convicted felon, and who would want to associate with him. And anything he has to say would be self-serving by not admitting mistakes, but claiming it was political witchhunt. Do you think that grinning bastard would ever admit guilt?

I'd REALLY like to know that answer. I bet Russ didn't walk out and I bet Kerry stayed too because they are classy guys... I'm not familiar with walk-outs in history and this may be acceptable for true statesmen of dignity, like that pair of patriots.

Make no mistake - that speech was an audition video.

Delay is going to need megabucks very soon to pay his lawyers (and, we hope, some enormous fines to go with the jail time). After being in Washington for a couple of decades, he doesn't have any real skills to fall back on. With those charges hanging over his head, even the corporate Bush cronies that usually come up with an overpaid job for former GOP congresscritters won't touch him. So now that he can't ride the DC gravy train any more, he's going to have to hit the speaker circuit.
