Tom Daschle for President? You've GOT to be kidding!
What's he going to run on, the spineless wimp platform?

1. Yeah. Given that, historically, senators have a hard time...
running in a presidential election, I wonder how well a tarnished ex-senator would do? :eyes:

10. "Winning re-election" is not so easy when right-wing bloggers are
being paid thousands of dollars to smear and spread lies about you -- there were two (at least) bloggers known to be paid for smearing Daschle -- one was paid $36,000 for his efforts if I remember right.

Thune was heavily backed by RW money and before we consider Daschle "tarnished" I think we need to understand why so much ammunition was brought to bear against him -- I suspect Mr. Rove had more than a peripheral awareness of what was going on in South Dakota.

Am not trying to pick a fight here (I don't even live in South Dakota any more) but my hunch is Daschle had so much cred as a Dem leader that he was a threat to the right wingers (ala Wellstone) and the decision was made to bring him down. jmnsho.

5. If Biden is in the race, why shouldn't Tom? The GOP MSM will
pick a candidate for you anyway. I don't know for sure his/her name - but read my lips: it would be someone who voted for war. Once selected for ya, their straw candidate will be properly dismantled for said vote as the candidate itself will desperately try to avoid the war issue at all costs.
