Well, according to Truthout, the Markey Amendment went down in flames today, with the voting pretty much falling along party lines. The Repugs seem to believe (surprise suprise) that government regulation of the internet is worse than allowing the big internet companies to do it instead.

What is it with these people? Not the Repugs in the House, so much...I already know what their deal is...money, money, money. And influence. And power.

Fucking bastards.

But why do the average Republicans trust Big Business more than government? What, exactly, indicates to them that corporations can be trusted to do anything but look out for their own interests? If it's to their advantage to fuck the average consumer, they're quick as a bunny to find some orifice into which to stick their spiny member.

I have to pretty much restrict my hatred for the Repugs in Congress...leaving only pity and bemusement for the average Repug. Corporate America is no more benevolent a master than would be a over-regulatory government...

I'm afraid I just don't understand their whole ideology. Market forces are a meaningless concept when they're so easily manipulated by the ethically and morally challenged.

I'm pissed. Oh, I realize it's a little hard to recognize, since I'm so lucid about it. But I'm so angry and disgusted with this latest Repug victory that I feel as though someone punched me in the stomach.

Fuck them all.

1. We never had a shot in the house
We have a chance in the Senate, to at least kill the bill or delay it indefinitely, if nothing else.
