Guess what I got today.....My first

dollar bill in change with "Impeach Bush" written in black marker on the front side.

I felt an immediate affinity with the person, whoever it was that did it.

It actually made my morning.

and I've been filling in for until my new vault teller starts next week. Last week while sorting money from a night deposit one of our businesses dropped I found a 20 someone had marked. I kept it in my drawer to hand out; I'm not sure who got it but I made sure to keep it out of our 'mutilated' pile!

If I ever spent cash, I'd mark my bills but the only time I don't use a debit card is if I buy something with change; I don't ever have cash on hand. And, as a good teller supervisor, I can't go through the teller drawers and write on the money if I want to keep my job. Being in the heart of Repuke Kansas the customers I deal with wouldn't take it well if they got money with anything written on it; they don't like getting bills that are less than crisp and new.

And "he" kept that up for another year, until his approval rating got to the point where it seemed like I was stamping the obvious, and I finally stopped.


I can't say who this person is, but he bears a strong physical resemblance to me, and we agree on just about everything!

and wrote various things on bills: "Bush Cheated, Gore Got More" the famous W-with-a-red-slash-through-it, etc. I know for a fact that the person will *never* get over the coup. (There used to be a great "Are You Over It Yet?" thread at Salon's TableTalk)

And I remember that in those dark days, someone (not me) used to sell little anti-Chimp rubber stamps specially designed to be used on currency. Wish I'd ordered one.
