You have no morals
Republicans say they have morals, but here are a few of my favorite immoral GOP escapades (with my commentary).

Dick Armey (R-Texas), former professor, has been accused by The Dallas Observer of sexually harassing female students. (He looks like the type)

Helen Chenoweth, Congresswoman (R-Id.). Admitted to a six-year adulterous affair with a married associate. In 1995, Chenoweth had denied the affair when asked about it by The Spokane Spokesman-Review, but now she claims a pardon from a higher authority: "I've asked for God's forgiveness, and I've received it," she revealed.(And she had the nerve to attack Clinton once)

Newt Gingrich, married three times. Gingrich campaign worker Anne Manning admitted that she gave Newt oral sex while he was still married to his first wife. Informed one wife he was filing for divorce while she was in the hospital recovering from cancer treatments. (And he had the nerve to attack Clinton! Pot, Kettle, Bbbblack!)

Tim Hutchinson, divorced his wife of 29 years to marry a congressional aide he was having an affair with. (Oooh, what good Christian values!)

Henry Hyde, Judge who oversaw Clinton's impeachment proceedings, prominent opponent of reproductive rights, who had an extramarital affair with a woman who was married and had three children, during the course of which she and her husband were divorced. (A dirty, low down homewrecker throwing stones, tsk, tsk, tsk)

Bob Barr, Republican Congressman from Georgia. Sponsored the anti-gay Defense of Marriage Act, saying "The flames of hedonism, the flames of narcissism, the flames of self-centered morality are licking at the very foundation of our society, the family unit." Was married three times. Paid for his second wife's abortion. Failed to pay child support to the children of his first two wives and while married to his third and present wife was photographed licking whipped cream off of strippers at his inaugural party. (Oooh, what a nice guy! I'm sure it's in the moral code that all married people must lick on people they don't even know)

Pat Buchanan predidential candidate, media talking-head. His campaign refused to confirm or deny whether Pat has had chlamydia or any other venereal diseases.(STDs of family values! wooo!)

Sue Myrick, Congresswoman (R-NC), describes herself as a "devout Christian." Committed adultery with a married man.(I didn't know Christians were allowed that!)

And the nastiest and most hypocritical one I've read so far:

Ken Calvert, Congressman (R-Ca), champion of the Christian Coalition and its "family values." Sued as an alimony deadbeat by his ex-wife. Said "We can't forgive what occurred between the President and Lewinsky." In 1993 he was caught by police receiving oral sex from a prostitute and attempted to flee the scene.(Filth! utter filth! At least Clinton didn't pay for it, which is illegal and then try to flee the law)

1. RE: Henry Hyde, when his affair "came to light"
good ole Hypocrite Henry said that is was "a youthful indiscretion". I believe Mr. Hyde was 49 or so when he and this woman were carrying on their affair.

3. as Charlie Rangel said
morals are not all about sex.

CS Lewis wrote:

"Finally, though I have had to speak at some length about sex, I want to make it as clear as I possibly can that the centre of Christian morality is not here. If anyone thinks that Christians regard unchastity as the supreme vice, he is quite wrong. The sins of the flesh are bad, but they are the LEAST BAD of all sins. (e.m.) All the worst pleasures are purely spiritual: the pleasure of putting other people in the wrong, or bossing and patronising and spoiling sport, and backbiting; the pleasures of power, of hatred. For there are two things inside me, competing with the human self I must try to become. They are the Animal self and the Diabolical self. The Diabolical self is the worse of the two. That is why a cold, self-righteous prig who goes regularly to church may be far nearer to hell than a prostitute. But, of course, it is better to be neither." "Mere Christianity" pp 94-95

10. It's just a few bad apples.
Whenever they do anything wrong, that's the explanation.

Their direct line to God gives them special dispensations.
