I saw a cartoon at my friends house of Bush & Cheney playing chess
It had American citizens on the board dressed as knights, biships, rooks and pawns.
As Cheney knocks over a rook, he belly laught and blurts out to Bush: "They actually
believe they play some part in this game. Buwah hahaha!"

1. more true than most can imagine
I've pretty much felt that way since 63, but it took this last few years to turn me around. If we don't stand against the powers that be now, we don't have another chance. I don't like to sound all gloom and doom, but it's time to revive the revolutionary spirit that made this country. It won't be easy, but I've got nothing to lose and everything to gain.

2. You don't need the chess metaphor for this. They said it straight out

''We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And
while you're studying that reality -- judiciously, as you will -- we'll
act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and
that's how things will sort out. We're history's actors . . . and you,
all of you, will be left to just study what we do.''

3. Ironic, isn't it?
How this bunch of hypocrits who don't give a shit about "little-people" have been so successful appealing to them with their "we're just like you" propeganda. Makes me crazy.
