I just finished reading the best political book I've ever come across
Al Franken's "Lies, And The Lying Liars Who Tell Them." It's drop-dead hilarious, dead-on-target, and devastating. After finishing it, I can understand why conservatives have spent so much time sniping at Franken: anyone who reads this book will never look at Republicans and conservative pundits the same way again. "Air America" is lucky to have Franken.

2. I hope to get around to it
I've heard good things about it. Somehow, the Franken book went under my radar for three years.

6. I agree. That book made me proud of our liberal heritage.
And Keillor's writing skills are unmatched.

5. I agree with this endorsement.. my wife got me this, and we listened
to the CD version in the car, also... CD version is very good, has original audio clips that really add something, along with Al's very good voice delivery on the audio.

The book is very thorough, and well documented too.

7. YUP! But, I still like, "Confessions of an Economic Hitman".
It's impactful because it examines corporations' role in oppression and how the U.S. government backs them up (including with violence) when democratically-elected leaders reject the oppressive behavior of big U.S. companies.
