So, when is DU having its Yearly Convention?

Didn't we start up the day after 9/11 2001?

I think the KosVention is awesome. Could we pull such a thing off the way the Kossacks are? Or is that just not a DU kinda thing? IMO, A DU event could reach a lot of people, help get liberal ideas out there, and improve organization strategies for 2008.

If it happened in my town I would volunteer to make it happen. Anybody else?

DU is a discussion board. Most all of the good bloggers, author, writers have been chased off of DU. The best we could muster-up is local Meet-Ups.

I know what you mean though, about this being a bitch board. That's the best thing about it, IMO.

Maybe it would be better to stay Underground and let the fresh faced idealists elsewhere waste the shoeleather. Perhaps that is the best role for us.

I really don't know. I'm encouraged by all the energy in Las Vegas, and wish we had more of that among us. There still are a lot of activists and progressives here. Maybe they could get interested.

It's hard enough getting people to local meetups, a full fledged DU convention forget it. The idea has been kicked around often, but probably the best we could ever do is regionals, be my guest though if you can bring this herd of cats in go for it.
