C-Span's Coverage of Kos Convention...has had major technical difficulties
Edited on Sat Jun-10-06 01:25 PM by KoKo01
They just had to cancel coverage of one of the Panels on Blogging Influence because the transmission was interrupted so many times. It was a panel with Christ Bowers (MYDD) my congressional Rep. Brad Miller, and Peter Daou (DU'er PeteNYC) Matt Stoller and Media Matters Rep. It was a great presentation but the major comments were interrupted and finally C-Span pulled the plug saying they had to "cancel for technical difficulties."

Yesterday's coverage was also interrupted with garbled transmission which made it hard to hear complete comments. I don't know if it's their satellite or the microphones at the Riviera in Las Vegas but there's just so much of the garbled transmission...one has to wonder what went wrong...

:-( Anyway, what I was able to watch was very good...and it's sad that most C-Span viewers turned it off because of the garbled transmission.

I could don my :tinfoilhat: but perhaps it was just bad luck...and bad wiring in the hotel..or the satellite that just happened to be disrupted by sunspots.

2. Shit Happens Right?
Technical difficulties happen and it is extremely annoying when it does. Many people probably did turn it off and it's a shame that was the case since you're saying it was good.

Foreign Policy and Terrorism. Sound strong on Panel 2, but not so good on Panel 3.

And, will be watching the replay of Joe Wilson...tomorrow at 3:30 Eastern.

It's nice to be able to put faces to names...wish I was there in person. Threre was a hilarious post on Kos last night, about all of the casinos being put on notice that the Kossacks had come to town to break the casinos...trying to win enough money to buy the next election. Kossacks winning big time at blackjack tables, casinos worrying about all the brain power draining their money for nefarious Dem purposes.

Reminder: Kos on Meet the Press tomorrow morning, an hour earlier than usual due to the World Cup.

on edit: I was proud when, on that last panel, the girl (?) mentioned the lefty sites that had huge communities, and she mentioned DU....and, no one laughed.

We switched back and forth, and the other was never breaking up.

16. C-Span has been less fair and balanced for awhile now!
Such a disappointment. I actually was going to write and tell
you and(KOS and Rep. Miller) today... that yesterday and more
today.... Every single important statement by today was being
digitally broken up! Rep. Miller on the Theories board
(Blogosphere and Political Dialogue)was erased! There is a
pattern to the digital world and when it is only interrupted
at "specific moments" the digital dance and who is
censoring it becomes suspicious!

C-SPAN! Not only did you shut us down with only the
words..."Due to Technical Difficulties.." but you
did not say you would continue to tape and show it all later..
For me Brian, if you haven't been making me uncomfortable, in
the past year... This flags real red! You must think we are
'stupid!'
(KOS CHECK OUT THEIR CAMERAS IN THE ROOM, WHAT'S UP?)
+++++++
I simply believe in this panel they all were getting just too
close to the real jewel in the blog crown!

IT IS THE TOOL FOR THE DEMOCRATIC FUND RAISERS!
++++
Bowers: Your whole speech about how Repubs can't raise money
online was distorted, in fact that was the only clear
statement.

Matt, Actblue.com: was distorted.

Tim for "Ned Lamont": Distorted

Alexandra Savino: We got the part about the drudge report and
how it is bigger than Kos. But not much else!

++++++
And what does c-span go to...
you got it... The dead face!
Welcome to cnn, c-span!
++++++

I am sorry I missed the rest of the discussion.

If I could be so bold and ...risk discovering if it really is
a kinder gentler blog...

I believe the "money giving" occured-- through the
blogs --first Dean than Kerry....

BECAUSE WE THE PEOPLE CARED!And were so moved to give.

Where's the LOVE!
That's where we want to go!
And that is where we will be moved to give, well, our
everything.

19. Don't think it's CSPAN's fault.
Edited on Sat Jun-10-06 04:59 PM by Cookie wookie
Before the lastest Iraq war, whenever there was an important panel or debate, the transmision would break up. I've never seen that happen for any other CSPAN programming, but must admit since they've been forced to provide more fascist programming I've watched CSPAN much less. I used to watch it religiously, and remember clearly how upset I was when the few antiwar events or debates about the issue that were supposed to be televised would be ruined by interference.

No one can convince me this stuff happening is not being done intentionally. It is too targeted to information that opposes/exposes the * administration.

21. The Women's march on DC also.
And several times Dean's events were broken up or distorted. Once there was so much static it was unwatchable. Other times distorted. Once they gave Kerry a greenish face, and the whole thing had an eerie glow to it.
