It's amazing how many people need reminding...

How hard it is for people to see the connections.

But in their defense, the great majority of Germans didn't see a problem with Hitler until it was way too late.

Humans aren't particularly good at learning lessons from history.

I sent him an e-mail wileyink@earthlink.net when I saw another thread on this brilliant Non Sequitur toon this morning:

myself. I just don't have that kind of ego. I'm the kind of guy when
receiving any such praise that will just hide in a corner and say,

And it's actually more important for them to say these things to the
editor of their newspaper. They are the ones who decide what goes
into the paper and what doesn't. Maybe if editors started hearing
more of an outcry for more thoughtful commentary and satire rather
than the tepid, safe material that makes up the majority of the
comics section (as well as the editorial page!), they might actively
seek it out rather than shy away from it. And, in doing so, they
just might find more people start to read newspapers again.

Thanks for posting this.

Those tattoos are ugly reminders of an ugly time, and here we are in the US today, struggling for the soul of our own nation.

My husband told me he teared up reading NS this morning, as the reminder is personal. I did my own tearing up while reading this thread.
