Let me just say that I know the strong criticism for organized religion often expressed here at DU, but that's not what this is about. This is merely an observation; as Things Break Apart, the Right is having increasing difficulty dealing with messages in the New Testament, and particularly Jesus. There is not now, and never has been, any evidence that Christ excluded gays or any others in his "love one another" message. And of course, the Right will never, ever mention the Sermon on the Mount, or the message known as the "Beatitudes," with its blessings on the poor and peacemakers. Instead, they seek comfort in "Godless," which could have been written not by Ann Coulter, but by Heinrich Himmler. Paganism and ridicule of conscience and those who have suffered. Nice. The right wing bloggers are spinning in their contortionism, and no matter how they twist and turn, their discomfort level is growing and obvious. It may very well have consequences and backlash, as many Americans refuse to accept Ann Coulter as America's most respected theologian.
