Can you help remind me why Imus is such a prick.

My Dad loves the guy and I want to show him what a hypocrite Imus is.

I almost threw up one morning when I changed the channel and saw him putting that gum in his mouth he looks so Nasty! Whew!

his manly love and respect for Rick has to be one of the greatest love stories in modern society.

development was stopped in his teens. He is a wrinkled juvenile who ignored any counsel to be more considerate early on. He got addicted to getting laughs from cruel jokes. He suffers from major attention deficit. He never learned manners. He appears to have an extremely schizophrenic personality.

This may not be what you're looking for.

One of the ways he is hypocritical is the way he panders or raves about a caller in one minute, then hangs up the phone and blasts the person on air, or vows to never speak to the person again, or complaine about how dull the conversation was, or says he is never speaking to the person again.

Incoming calls are pushed on him. He sells plenty because of people like your father who like him. NBC has all these people call into his show because he sells their employees - Williams, O'Donnell, Matthews. Left to his own he might only participate in bigot bashes with Bernard and other bigots like Diddle and his impersonator.

Cruelty and bigotry is his hallmark.

Ask your father what he likes - get him to be specific. Let your father to pin down what he likes and doesn't like. It could be revealing to him.

Perhaps it isn't worth it.

I turn on MSNBC as a game - to see how predictable they are. Crime coverage in the afternoon. Giggling by hosts at other times of the day.

I turned on Imus this morning for the usual two minutes and I heard Bo Diddle saying that they put bacon in the mouth of al-Zarqawi, therefore he wouldn't get his virgins. I think he said something about putting bacon on a bullet and putting it into his mouth.

Saying this is utter stupidity, bigotry, and guaranteed to bring revenge.

The question I ask when I listen is - in what way are we supposed to be superior to people in other countries of the world. The answer when watching Imus - is we are the most base and crude.

you are liberal or conservative, black or white or pink with purple polkadots. as long as he thinks you are entertaining.

in 1992 he had bill clinton on numerous times and supported him for president. even was the keynote speaker at a washington dinner where he in his own words "gave the biggest flop sweat routine of all time"

Imus himself is the butt of half the jokes on the show.

john kerry, john edwards have been on his show numerous times.

imus supports whatever can be the most entertainment for him and the audience.

so lighten up a bit. ;)

bo diddle is a moron, and imus calls him one very often. even before he was on MSNBC those people you mentioned were frequent guests.

where they collect unknown amounts of funds from their Media, Celebrity and Politician guests who donate so they can come on the show and plug books, articles, sports or whatever to enhance their own reputations.

Imus shamelessly promotes his wife's "green products," his brother salsa company and himself and that ranch while getting big breaks for running a charity. He's never called out for it and it seems to be part of the huge self promotion from GE's Media empire with CNBC/MSNBC shilling for the big corporations while fostering the kind of "white collar" crime that is "situation ethics" and might be illegal if we had any real laws left in the US.

I think he's as dangerous as Ann Coulter but in a more subtle (HA!) way in that his foul language, double dealing, self promotion and smarmy and sometimes thugish behavior brings down the level of discourse on the airwaves. I find it hard to have respect for anyone who goes on his show and sucks up to him.

Who is he that he has enough power that the "high and mighty" will grovel at his feet making jokes to entertain him?

he played "My Ding-a-ling" on the air repeatedly, was warned by station management, and continued to play it until he was canned on the air.

Faster than he would agree he's a hypocrite, that is. I used to listen to Imus every morning, but it was easy to switch to AAR on the first day because all the schticks had gotten as tired and sick as Imus. Too many looooong segments on Imus's health complaints; way too many visits from Tim Russert blathering about how special his dad is for enjoying a beer and saying "What a country" a lot; too many segments of Deedle and Bernard trying to out-do Howard Stern in the shockingly offensive department, always followed by Imus saying, "You're a pig". Yawn.

I don't know why your dad loves him, of course, but I used to enjoy his pose of doubting the sincerity of everyone, with no respect for political party - but, again, I noticed that after he developed some health problems he started phoning it in.

Naturally, I enjoyed it more when he and his cohorts turned their viciousness on people like Rush Limbaugh and Doctor Laura, because I'm a Democrat and because I don't like self-righteous preachy types in general. Somehow, I wasn't offended when Bernard blasted Laura as a hypocritical attention-starved slut, but I bristled when he started in on how Hillary should stay home and shut up because she is supposedly fat.

I also liked Imus's contrary nature - he claimed he was no "liberal weenie" but he didn't drink the Kool-aid either. He interrupted one guest trying to blast Al Franken's book (Lies and Lying Liars) by saying that Al Franken is a damn funny writer with some damn good points. He said that gays getting married is none of his business, and I said - right!

Another example, from just before this obscene war - I was relieved at Bernard's outrage over Powell's presentation to the UN. He said it was an unconvincing "joke", accompanied by "cartoons" of "Tonka trucks" - and that's what I had thought when I saw it. I had hope for a minute - Gee, if even a pig could see that the arguments for war were bogus ...

I also liked Imus's claim (2000) that he was considering supporting Bush for selfish reasons - because a moron like that would have infinite comedy possibilities and make his radio job easier.

I am not defending Imus as he is now, not at all. He may still want to be a thought-provoking iconoclast, but he just isn't any more. Maybe your dad would agree with that?

like a two-year old. Over and over and over again, on every show he calls Hillary Satan. You bet if he called Pickles Satan he would be off the air in a skinny minute.

That Imus loves Rick Santorum is just proof positive he is dumber than a post. And Russert appears on Imus after every bad review on Huff Post "Eat the Press" to sell more copies of his lame ass books. Timmy loves Daddy - stop the presses!

Imus is senile. Imus is a cadaver. Imus is junk radio all for the sake of pandering to his enormous ego and bank account. Charles and Bernard are just coasting on his coattails for a paycheck. Both are hateful repugs people who just prop up Imus each morning with smear speak. Nothing new here.

They contribute nothing, they add nothing, they could all disappear tomorrow and no one would remember them past Friday.
