President Bush called US coach Bruce Arena before today's match

ESPN studio host Rece Davis made an analogy about war and one of the talking heads (the one between Lalas and Julie Foudy) said, "If you're talking about a war, you've got the right guy on the phone."

Really? That's why Iraq is going so swimmingly? That's why Afghanistan is turning back into Taleban-land? Because George Bush is such an effective war leader?

6. The male announcers were disgusting. Julie Foudy was noticeably silent.

I had JUST turned to the match as they were playing the call from the F*ck-up-in-Chief. Talk about a mood-killer.
