Violent crime is up because of gay pride parades
so sez Michael Medved.

A caller was saying it was because Bush cut Clinton's COPS program.

Michael had an intriguing counter-theory. He said it was because cities are spending too much on gay pride parades.

1. I'd say women in short skirts are guilty too. Also people carrying money
on them and people - like Dead Eye Dick's friend who pop up in all the wrong places interfering with people's shooting.

10. The more gay pride parades there are, the more the radical right
feels it necessary to do something about those fags. After all the are an abomination to G-d and are out to make all of our children gay. :sarcasm:

12. Huh?-redux
I, too, was baffled, until I diagrammed the orginal post: non-sequitor + "says Michael Medved" = perfectly understandable rabbid gibberish.

9. ROFL!!
I missed the local one this year, but I'm nearly blind anyway and wouldn't have enjoyed it much. They did have a positive segment about it on local news, though, a first. It looked wonderful, colorful and joyful as always.

There was a group of phobes there, of course, fat white guys dressed in black and the newscaster wasn't kind.

This is the middle of the wild west, folks.

11. It's because of no-smoking bans
All those people that have to leave the safety of their buildings for a smoke are getting mugged.

Or because of nicotine cravings and short tempers are bashing co-workers in the face with staplers when asked "Have you quit yet?"

13. Michael Medved is such a schmuck. He is such an embarassment to Jewry.
He should just jump ship and come out of the closet as the big, flaming right-wing Christian conservative he tries to sound like. Putz. Schlamiel. NEBISH!

14. Gays are also responsible for global warming
Them queer folk could burn a rug in an igloo, that's what my cuzzin Gomer sez. No wonder them polar ice caps are melting. And I heard tell they're responsible for the increase in allergies, too -- everyone knows that gay folks take a bath every day and using all that soap and deodorant is pollutin' the air. Who knows what those PREverts might be up to next!

15. Trickle Down causes the poor to get poorer. Being poor causes
poverty. Poverty causes desperation. Desperation causes CRIME. Crime causes the rich to worry about being robbed. The rich donate more money to the Republican politicians. The Republicans start wars to get the now desperate poor off the street and also build more jails for the same reason. The voters finally get the picture and vote in Democrats. Democrats spend more money to prevent poverty, war and thereby lower crime rates. The Democrats spend less on war and building jails which saves more in the long run. The Democrats work out a viable pay as you go plan. Soon more and more forget what happened last time and start bitching about high taxes. The Republicans again jump on the lower taxes/trickle down bandwagon, we repeat the cycle.
