Soros is on CNBC... good interview...
Edited on Mon Jun-12-06 04:49 PM by MazeRat7
One point he made in the last segment: "Terrorists wage war by killing innocents in order to effect political change. When you fight a war against an abstraction like "Terrorism", innocents will be killed."

"Many of those that were very opposed to Sadam have similar feelings toward us"... because we are killing innocents.

His point being, that by trying to fight "Terrorism", innocents will be killed which was a subtle way of saying "we are no different from those we are fighting".

There are a few more mins left in the interview. Well worth watching.

edit: Updates...

Q: What about China and Asia, should we be worried?
A: We should be worried about our over consumption, but the growth in China and Asia is positive

Final Word: For the near term cash is king. (I think that says it all)

2. I took it to mean liquidity in general, he didn't specify a currency.

4. Thats right.
Buffet is hedging dollars and Pickens is buying oil.

A very unsavory situation.

You know that is really why gold went up so much - in dollars.

Didn't go up so much in euros or yen - but the dollar failed and other currency held up as the dollar failed. And so went the dollar value of gold.

Joe

3. The basic message that shrubco and RW Americans deliver is this:
1. We are fighting "war on terror" because of terror acts that killed innocent civilians (9/11).

2. In prosecuting this "war", we don't actually give a damn if innocent civilians (Iraqi) are killed, at road checkpoints, by bombings, or perhaps pulled out of their homes and shot.
