President Clinton slams GOP in Orlando speech

<snip>

By contrast, he said Republicans stood only for concentrating wealth and power in the hands of those who agree with them.

"Those are their values," he said. "They think they're good people and they're better than we are and that America works better when they run everything."

...

He said he agreed with U.S. Sen. Bob Graham that America should have finished the job in Afghanistan and given United Nations inspectors more time in Iraq before going after Saddam Hussein.

"We believe we should act with others whenever we can and act alone only when we're forced to, and they believe it the other way around -- they should act alone when they can and work with others only when they're forced to," Clinton said.

Above all, Clinton said, Democrats must offer an alternative to the Republicans rather than simply focusing on their struggles in recent years.

1. Here is what stands out for me...................
............ "I really wish we could get someone who could speak as clearly as him," said Jeff Dearmin, 52, an Orlando computer programmer.

4. Gore Does When He's Pissed
like when he's speaking at a MoveOn.org event or at a university. During this book tour, he's reverting back to being too diplomatic and kinda goofy (the whole Lyndsay Lohan thing was stupid)

7. Yes, the gratuitous slam on current Democrats
Couldn't possibly have an article that was completely positive. That comment is exactly what the media always does, it's no different than when they chose to print the one person at a Kerry rally who said "he's boring". No matter how many people come back from Kerry events and post at DU and Kos that Kerry is anything but confusing or boring, the myth lives on.

10. Hey, I'm not slamming Clinton for what he did/didn't do.........
......at least I don't want to come across like that's what I'm trying to do. I'm simply acknowledging that the issue is out there:banghead: and that Bill Clinton is a Statesman through it all.:applause: Personally, I always did and still do admire the man.:yourock:

11. The article, not you
Doesn't really matter what the dig is, there always has to be one in an article about a Democrat. That's all.
