Storm Alberto, good news and bad news (not what you think!)
Good news: My two ultra right-wing sisters will not be visiting this week!

Bad news: Visit canceled because one sister's south Georgia house was heavily damaged by a falling tree in Alberto-related storms this afternoon.

Sorry sis. Glad insurance covers your damage. Let's reschedule the visit for June 21, 2016. Call before you come.

1. Where in South Georgia?

Here in the Albany area we aren't even getting rain yet - just nasty looking feeder band clouds.

2. South side of Columbus, Ga.
Studying the radar history, it might have been a small cluster of severe TSTMS. One never knows.

3. That would be expected
Northwest side (we're southeast of Columbus) of the storm is the usual place for tornadoes/thunderstorms.

6. True. The dirty sides are the SE and NE (CCW flow).
But there was some nasty stuff on the NW side of Alberto yesterday. SW side is generally the least destructive in a cyclonic event (in the northern hemisphere).
