1. Keep hammering on those creepazoids
I have money pledged to Ill. congressional races, but I will dig deep at the end of the summer to donate to the most important races within reach, and these two are near or at the top of my list (with Santorum, of course).

2. Gee and yesterday USA Today gleefully reported that governors
races were tightening for the Democrats and included this one as an example.

4. That had to be fiction or wishful thinking
Strickland has been ahead by double digits almost from the beginning.

Must be the GOP early summer offensive. They are desperate.

6. I hope that by publishing these poll results, the repugs
know exactly how many votes they will have to steal.

8. This is very good news.
The numbers are getting better all the time. Isn't it strange, though that DeWine leads among the youngest voters. What could he possibly have to offer to them? If Ohio is anything like PA, the young people have been leaving here because there are no jobs for them.

10. Social Security is the reason for older voters favoring Brown
And, younger voters probably buy into the hype of it not being there in the future thanks to the Reagan Bush deficits

9. still too close for comfort for me
Has the GOP Propaganda Machine gotten into gear yet in either of these races? Is Blackwell going to pull his BS again?

16. Rove has been working on the Brown/DeWine race since spring
He was able to parlay the Hackett - Brown primary into quite a divisive battle among Dems, but it's pretty much died down. He's going to have to come up with a new whispering campaign.

GOP corruption in Ohio has been pervasive and a week doesn't go by without new stories. People are weary of the GOP here, they've been in control of all 3 branches of government for nearly a decade and the economy is quickly turning sour here. They've worn out their welcome.

Of course there will still be a few die-hards in the southwestern and western part of the state, but those folks aren't to rational to begin with.

15. The momentum isn't in their favor
They'll both likely have high double digits by November. Ohio GOP's corruption keeps growing every day.

19. Best of luck
Sadly, I don't see the situations in OH and FL ending peacefully. They'll have to be dragged from office kicking and screaming. the voter suppression and fraud that Whitewell perpetrated 2 years ago will be child's play compared to what Cleveland voters will face this year.

12. Young voters going for Dewine? What? How does that make sense?
And why would older votes go for the Democrat? Isn't that supposed to be versed?

14. get elections out of repub hands!!!! -- could we put observers at every
precinct??

In IA from 72 to 88 (elections I took part in) there were repub and dem pollwatchers at every precinct. Most worked ca 2 hours and were then replaced; we were all volunteers.

I sat at the table with the repub poll watcher and the election officials and marked off on list supplied by the dem precinct chair each democrat who voted. The lists were collected periodically, and those on the list who had not yet voted were called and reminded to 'be sure and vote.'

In the 72 and the 74 elections it was really weird; each time a young person, especially a young man with long hair came in, the repub poll watcher would say 'S/he's yours.'

17. Ohio Dems are planning to do just that
They're going to be watching this election very closely.

They're also calling on Blackwell to recuse himself from overseeing it, since he's a candidate.
