"I say UNCLE" I give up. Let's give Religious Reichists what they want.
Let us give them social legislation that they so obviously seek.
Let us join together and pass laws that really support the fundamental state of marriage. If x-tians are so concerned about their state of marriage, Let's pass: THE PROTECTION OF CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE ACT. As a test case, it will only apply to christians at first, just to see if they like what they are trying to do to the rest of us.

If we succeed, every ultra-conservative Christian will never be allowed to get a divorce. His daughters will never be allowed to get that convenient D&C due to their sleep over with that "niggah" football playah. (I am quoting a racist piece of shit councilman from Raleigh). Their wives will never be allowed to have jobs. They won't be able to rotate crops, eat shellfish, or meat and cheese together, work on sundays, spill their masterbated sperm on the ground, and much, much, much more.

If we are going to legislate morality, let's do it right. But, we get to limit these new laws to Christians (self-proclaimed) and force them to do P R E C I S E L Y what their instruction manual tells them to do. in EVERY WAY. Oh, and if they break their own laws, of their own chosing, let's apply the biblical penalty. I have my stone handy, and my aim is purdy good.

How can they object to getting precisely what they want? Why would they object to being forced to follow everything that they want us to follow? Anything wrong to them leading by example?

2. Somewhere there's a beautiful letter to Laura Schlesinger
asking her advice on what to do about maintaining Biblical law like she called for. I can't find it just now but bet someone has it stored safely away on their hard disk.

6. That letter is the best!
I have it at work and can't access it now. I agree wholeheartedly with the OP. Let's make them live in the world they so desperately want.
If the "defense of marriage" act is really about defending marriage...then outlaw divorce.

3. Recommended.
Your idea, I mean.

It's brilliant.

And to show you how much I appreciate having this wonderful new idea to play with, I'll recommend your thread, too.

:D

4. Yep, they would object
They are about forcing it on everybody else more than anything, I think.

They probably believe they live that way - the laws are needed to force all those heathens.

7. Funny I have had the same thought
Referendums in all 50 states..doing away with the constitution and bill of rights. Replace it with biblical law. Do away with all science, only what is written in the bible....only the "right" christians could hold political office...who decides which are the right christians would be the evangelical leaders.....lets put it to a test see how the American people react. Rather than the drip drip drip assault we just force the issue.

8. I'm with you and I'd like to add......
I'd trade my right to choose IF, they agreed to guarantee every woman who conceives a child high-quality, GOVERNMENT FUNDED pre-natal care, to start. There are some other things I'd ask for, but I'd like to see their response. Lets see how much they love the fetus.

9. boy, a REAL health care system? One that seeks health rather than profits?
Are you crazy? How will the GOP get millions in campaign funds?
Imagine how bad things would be if girls are innoculated against HPV, if proper pre and neo-nate care prevents future disease, and if diets are tuned to long, healthy life rather than supporting Big Pharma?
