I heard news today (NPR) that the SCOTUS is hearing some case about whether or not to charge Gitmo detainees/prisoners/pows/etc. So the USA is NOT going to release any more prisoners until after the SCOTUS decides whether or not they need to be charged to be kept in Gitmo. Even though the military person on the news said he knew of people to be released, since they were "no longer a threat", these people will not be released until they find out if they have to be charged, at which time it will be more difficult to release them. So, rather than just holding whomever they want, for however long they want, and releasing them as they want, no one will be released until the SCOTUS says they have to be charged.
My brain hurts. Help please. I am sharing a modem, so will be checking in periodically. Peace and thank you.
