VIDEO: Ken Mehlman on Jon Stewart last night at C&L ("Must-see")

Without too much effort, Jon makes him look weak and hypocritical. I love the open government comment from Jon:

http://www.crooksandliars.com/2006/06/14.html#a8707

Stewart: Perfume those turds...

Ken Mehlman stepped onto the set of The Daily Show last night and was so easily carved up by Stewart that you could see Jon was holding back..
Video-WMP Video-QT

Stewart: You're the guy--I have sympathy for you because you're the guy who has to spray perfume on these turds. You know what I mean? You're the guy that has to go out and like no matter what (garbled) It's not an easy job. I mean what happened to these guys...? They came in. They were gonna be the straight-shooters, the adults, and it seems as though they have become the parsers, the guys that are saying 'Well, I never said that al Qaeda and Saddam were responsible for 9/11 ...' You guys became parsers. When did that happen?

Mehlman:I think greed, cynicism, all those things caused us to do it."

Did Ken say that Afghanistan was a failed state? When an interviewer (fake of course) asks pointed questions to the Mehlman's out there; they just cave. I keep posting these clips and keep shaking my head at how these talking point junkies are so easily debunked. Stewart has that ability. Mehlman actually looked very nervous.

There are many great clips on Comedy Central's website.

1. I think that's the tragic irony of it ...
Edited on Wed Jun-14-06 10:38 AM by Akoto
The Daily Show makes no claims of being anything more than a "fake news show," yet it STILL does a better job of reporting the truth than our actual journalists.

If the media in its entirety were like TDS, we'd probably be a lot better off as a country. I suppose it's to our benefit that so many young people are fans of Stewart and Colbert, rather than O'Reilly and Hannity.

11. Another irony is that we're forced to laugh about things
which are deadly serious. About 100,000 deaths, and suffering beyond our capability to imagine.

Mehlman is another criminal who will see his day.

2. "This (show) is harder than most" Ken Mehlmen on TDS. WTF?
Why the hell is a fake news show more nerve wracking to Melhman than Oh, say... a REAL FUCKING NEWS SHOW??!

once again... if you are not outraged, you are not paying attention.

just totally in awe of how Jon controlled Mehlman as if Melhman was a child. The very second Mehlman would start to spin, Jon just reeled him back to the case in point. I have never seen Jon be that masterly before (sigh) or was it that Mehlmann is just a twerp?????

17. Jeez, "Turd Watch" should be a regular feature of The Daily Show
from now on, during the "duration" of the endless war, or the Bataan Death March which is what the remaining years of the Bush administration have become.
