2. Incumbents win more than 96% of the time.

96% of the time. Chafee will NOT lose a primary.

4. You could put together a well coordinated cross-over plan
Just to sink him in the primary. Shouldn't be that difficult in a small state. Isn't that how they took out Cynthia McKinney the first time?

5. True
But then Sheeler wouldn't have a chance in the Dem primary. He's a long shot as it is, but if all his potential voters voted in the R primary, then he'd have no chance in hell.

I'm voting for Sheeler, but he doesn't have a chance against Whitehouse.

7. Yee of little faith....
Sheldon has capped out at the mid 30's for approval ratings and has the same number or higher disapproved even after a $250k tv blitz for three weeks. The balance are undecided and will likely not do so for a while. We have 90 days to convert unknowns to approval and we're ticking up by 5% every two weeks. Our internal polls show his 35% to my 25%.

We received the endorsements of VETPAC and IMPEACHPAC and a slew of other supporters (Code Pink, etc.) and endorsements with some key ones pending.

I personally delivered a letter to Sheldon at his home and campaign office challenging him to a series of debates and copied media on this today... so we'll see.

Thanks for the support. Pass it on.

8. I've been telling
I've been telling anyone I know who is dem or independent who I'm voting for and why. I don't talk to the mouth breathing, knuckle dragging, all too proud to admit to being Rush listening Republicans. They are hopless. Unfortunately, I seem to work with all of them in the state.

You've got four votes in my house. For what that's worth. I'm sure you can tell from my username what city I'm in.

I think if you can get the coverage, you can get the name recognition and have a shot. Sheldon is a politician and as such, I don't trust him. He's also a member of the oligarchy. I don't want *any* of them representing me.

I like my grandpa's old political preferences. Every election he used to say, "throw the bums out!" Grampa wasn't very enamoured of career politicians.

You should have someone from your campaign talk to Baskt. I only started reading his column again recently. I can't stand the guy but he's finally stopped being Bush's little boyfriend and water carrier. In a recent column, he wrote as if the race were Sheldon/Chafee/Laffey. Does he know you exist?

I loathe laffey. With a passion. On a visceral level, I'd rather see Chafee win the primary just so I don't have to see Laffey's smirk. I hate his commercials. I'm getting heated up just thinking about it. And if he made all his money as a hedge fund manager... let me just say as a former options trader (floor trader) for a private hedge fund... I'd investigate his money. The market is extremely corrupt. From the bottom up, from the pit traders to the institutions. Very shady. Not everyone, but enough... Laffey is a dickhead and is untrustworthy. Plain and simple. Just gotta love a mayor who blames all a city's problems on the firefighters, policemen and teachers. Or who wants to privatize everything in the city, even if it makes no sense.

3. If Laffey won the primary we would be assured of at least two pick ups
Rhode Island and Pennsylvania, IMO and then really go all out for the four other seats which we would need to win back the Senate.

6. Moderators, please ignore my "alert" warning against skipos
I only read the title and not the body of the post. Sorry. :D
