1. I googled for some good explanations and this is what I found.
"Your "Democracy Bond" is a commitment to make a monthly contribution the Democratic Party in order to:

* Reform the political process by building a political party beholden only to the people, not the special interests
* Build the Democratic Party from the ground up in every precinct so that we can compete everywhere
* Win elections in every state and territory of the United States, at every level of office

"Democracy Bonds" are about building a community of Americans with a stake in our common future -- locally, nationally, and globally. They will bond together a person in Alaska and a person in Missouri in common cause for a political process where parties are accountable to ordinary people and their concerns.

You can only buy one bond. You can decide to commit more money per month, depending on what you can afford, but the principle is democratic with a small-d -- one person, one bond. Every person can be a stakeholder in our party. "

http://ezraklein.typepad.com/blog/2005/06/democracy_bonds.html

Since their inception, over 25,000 individuals have invested in the future of the Democratic Party through the Democracy Bonds program. Your monthly recurring small dollar contributions have allowed the Democratic National Committee to place organizers on-the-ground in 38 of the 50 United States.

For the past few days, those organizers from Utah, Alaska, Indiana, and New Hampshire have been in the building participating in their introductory training sessions. The sessions include information on everything from organizing techniques to incorporating a strategy for Internet-based communication in their daily activities. For me personally, it was the first of these sessions I was able to sit in on since arriving at the DNC. To see the looks of enthusiasm and optimism on the faces of the organizers was inspiring. Inspiring because these are the people, with YOUR help, that are going to help win races, at all levels on the ballot, in places Democrats have not competed in a long time. Even as the Internet portion of the presentation began near the end of the day, they were asking tons of questions about blogs, email, and websites – after a full day - they were still completely engaged.

One of the organizers, Jonathan, documented his experience as part of the team on our website:

Hello from Alaska! My name is Jonathan Teeters and I am working with the Alaska Democratic Party and the Democratic National Committee to give Alaskans back their voices! For years, Alaska has been a tough place to be a Democrat. This tide is beginning to turn though, as evidenced by our outstanding success just a few nights ago.
November 15th was a big night for all of us in Alaska as we took part in the National Organizing Kickoff Parties that took place all over the country. Alaskans all across the state came together as Democrats, hosting nearly 20 parties, to resoundingly state that we are tired of politics as usual.

Here’s one of the photos from a tremendous event that took place in Alaska on the evening of the National Organizing Kick-Off.

7. My Sales Pitch
A few weeks ago, Governor Dean held a conference call for Democracy Bond holders to give us an update on the program and take questions. I joined the program just a few weeks after it was unveiled last summer and haven't regretted it for a moment.

As it relates to this discussion board, whenever a thread starts covering Hillary's potential candidacy for prez in 2008, invariably someone complains that the DLC is the bane of the party's existence. Well, I won't rebut that argument directly but I well pass along that Governor Dean hears almost constant static from the old guard of the Democratic party inside the Beltway that a 50-state campaign is no way to win.

He rejects that and I support his rejection with my $20 contribution every month. History tells us very clearly how we Democrats have landed in our present mess. Sure, election fraud is a big problem, but our strategy is even bigger. In order to win and end the culture war, we must contest every race in the country. That's city council, mayor, state legislature, etc. The Republicans very seldom let a race go down without a candidate. We must do likewise as part of a 30-year strategy for ultimate victory. The Democracy Bond program is the vehicle for doing so because it assures that the infrastructure is in place.

I knocked on doors for Senator Kerry in 2004 and months after he clinched the nomination, he didn't have an established campaign office in my city. I was saddened and surprised by that. You know for a fact that * had at least three. Governor Dean has us on the right path and we Bondholders would love to have you join us!

2. Democracy Bond is hope for America
For twenty bucks a month, you can help buy a better America, the one you used to have when you
were a kid. A country that was one nation indivisible with justice and mercy for all. Nobody sucked off the street to a foreign prison, nobody vacuuming your hard drive, nobody listening in when you have a phone conversation. Just your own personal investment, that won't pay you back in lattees but in a freer, kinder, gentler America. One in which the president
will be inaugurated w/o storm troopers and will walk down the street to be sworn in as president. One in which your gay neighbors will be able to be just like everybody else, working
stiffs who have to take their cat to the vet. One in which, we will work to give better jobs
for all Americans, where we will solve the problems of illegals by helping Mexico develop its
oil to help our oil shortage and to give jobs to both Mexicans and Americans. One in which our
old people won't be afraid of having nothing to live on in their old age. A country where our
leaders are honest men who will consider themselves public servants not ruling monarchs.

4. sure, you can certainly do mine
as for the photos and text in the other, you would need to copy the text on its own and then
right click the photo, select properties and you would have to copy the url there so that the
link would be in your post.

6. Thank you.
I am not so young and not so sophisticated about these things.

Frankly, I signed up and I was frustrated by the end. I think I did it.

I use your link thru. I think I did -

The concept is so good - there must be an easy way to give this without having people complete this form. Asking people to give money and do this form is asking alot.

I think there were two people that did it and could complete, willing to complete the damn form.

I thank you for the link. I will give it my best - such as it is.

Joe

10. sorry you had a hard time Joe
But you did your part, while you are sitting in your easy chair, you are building a better country. The form is complicated because there has been so much dirty money finding its way into campaigns.

14. Hey, at least your humble and honest
that put's you 200% ahead of most of our elected officials

Joe, it is the DNC-Democratic National Committee, main rep for all democrats

DLC - is the so called advisory group to our party, many are former Republicans trying
to spin our party into another corporate mouthpiece just like the Republicans.

15. I sure think you are right misswaverly.
I can't give the dlc much quarter either.

They are probably all scum rnc and dlc - we understand the same.

The thing is, best person to "watch a cheater" is another cheater - and I think the dlc is a much lower "cheat" risk.

I think we win when they watch each other.

Good for you misswaverly,

You are what democrats are supposed to be and I am proud to stand with you.

16. thanks, my Dad lost his job because he would not
switch from being a Democrat to a Republican and we were just making ends meet, but he
believed in the Democratic Party and so do I. Thanks, Joe, don't let them snow you,
every good person is worth more than a hundred of these slick, lying con men.

I am so sure, there is a Karma, and it comes around.

God bless you and your father. I know he will.

Standing up for what you believe is the important thing we were put here to do.

I like the way you use language - slick lying con men - you GO IT!!!

That is what these bastards are.

I sure hope you are ok misswaverly - I think you are what this country was meant to be made of.

There is a breeze coming - a cleansing breath. Not too long now.

Best to you dear,

12. A bond that's not really a bond.....
...since you're not paid interest nor do you get your "principal" back.

13. Freedom is priceless
If the government would start worrying more about balancing the budget and less about our
phone conversations, e-mail and private lives, I would be very happy and consider this
money well spent.

You're better off giving it directly to an individual candidate.
