7. The most important reason for repealing the estate tax
is that without it, family wealth can continue in a dynastic fashion passing down through an indefinite chain of decendents. With an estate tax, each subsequent generation has less and less of the original wealth, unless they make it on their own. So the super-wealthy are against the estate tax because it does somewhat hinder them from being dynasties. Without it we'll probably have (if our race doesn't kill itself off) Waltons and Campbells, and Gates's etc. running things hundreds of years down the line. Not necessarily a pretty picture.
