17. Agreed. Johnny was a class act.
I don't know what Leno is. I haven't watched him in years and only did tonight because I had hoped with Carlin present Coulter might get her ass handed to her. Oh well. George is still The Man. I also liked the sticker the singer had on her guitar - "This Machine Kills Fascists." Good for her!

22. Thank you for clearing up the guitar thing. I never could read
it, but could make out the word "Fascists". I really liked her, and thanks for reminding me to look on their website and see who she was. She needs a little DU support, me thinks.

they should vote "Conservative"...Show me a fiscally conservative Conservative
and I said I'll puke..um, no...I'll re-puke.

Oh wait, if you're fiscally conservative, you vote for "The Fiscals". Fuck.

15. Exactly.
Someone had posted a really interesting chart comparing
the Dems vs Cons money management over the decades...Dems
were superior. Sorry I don't remember where to find the chart.
It told the story that's for sure.

16. Leno's audience wasn't for Coulter
Leno's audience is a couple-few hundred people. There were maybe 20-30 obvious Coulter freepers who got tickets and were cheering and clapping every time she spit out another insane liberal hate line.

The rest of the crowd was civil and behaved, I'm guessing because Jay asked them to be before the show. You didn't hear them.

20. Leno a Republican? Not at all...
I remember reading a few years ago that he was one of the leading contributors to the California Democratic Party. And his wife's very active in women's rights issues.

He may be friends with Ahnuld, but he certainly is known to be a Democrat.

21. Jay Leno is NOT a Republican.
I get so tired of this smearing of people on our side because they say or do something 1% of the time that might not please us.

http://www.laweekly.com/index.php?option=com_lawcontent&task=view&id=9012&Itemid=

Jay Leno says, “I’m not conservative. I’ve never voted that way in my life.” He “really worries” what a Dubya victory in November will do to the makeup of the Supreme Court. He believes “the wool was pulled over our eyes” with the Iraq war. He thinks the White House began using terrorism “as a crutch” after 9/11. He feels that during the campaign Kerry should “make Bush look as stupid as possible.” He believes “the media is in the pocket of the government, and they don’t do their job” so “you have people like Michael Moore who do it for them.” He has on his joke-writing staff a number of former professional speechwriters for Democratic candidates. “No Republicans.” When it comes to Bush, he doesn’t think his politics are much different from Letterman’s. “Does he show his dislike maybe a little more than I do? Probably.” Leno used to read Mother Jones magazine.

25. I agree; Jay's MO is not to offend anyone
So, when he has on Republican guests, he is nice to them. Which angers everyone here.

Letterman doesn't care who he insults. Which is why I like him.

Too many people here confuse personal tastes with politics.

26. Well said,
I watch Leno for his monologue most of the time and it was obvious that the audience was unusually stacked with conservatives. He's made Coulter jokes in the past, in fact, he made one the night before and the audience erupted with laughter. I wonder if Coulter had a contingent of Freakers there.

31. Carlin
didn't say a thing last night and I will tell you my take on that. George is a realist. His material is about facing reality head on. Coulter is about illusions. She creates situations and tries to convince others of their realness. When you see a pile of dog shit on the ground and you know it's not your dog's why mess with it. It stinks and it will make you stink as well. Move along and on with your life. Coulter was not even remotely worth his time or energy and that was his message to us last night.
