CNN's Schneider on-air: No Zarqawi bounce for Bush
CNN's policial analyst Bill Schneider just reported on-air that there have been three polls since the elimination of Zarqawi in Iraq, and none of the three shows improvement in Bush's approval numbers.

11. I just KNEW that supposed 2-point gain was the handiwork
of that famous polling pundit, Marge Inoverra.

2. K & R. The gop talking point is that the mojo is back. pure spin - let's
unspin this right away and dispel the talking point before it's out of control...

The lack of upturn in his numbers is huge people - now go out and spread the news to every message board and forum you post on.

5. I actually think he got a bit of a bounce
It won't last a week, though. If I was him, I would have gone to Iraq too. It was a great photo op, and while he was his usual idiot self, it at least offered something other than relentless bad news for a day or two. Now it's back to business as usual, and any bounce he got from it will dissipate by Monday.

7. All within the margin of error.
Absolutely no 'bounce' can be implied from any of the recent polls, all of which are within their margin of error from the last iteration.

21. Anything 3 points or less is insignificant
Edited on Thu Jun-15-06 09:28 AM by Canuckistanian
The margin of error will make it go up or down a few points even if there's no actual change in opinion.

9. A Simple Question...Are Our Troops Coming Home?
That's all that people I canvass and speak with care about. Even the die-hard war hawks now are tired of Iraq...they're ready to go into Iran or Syria and leave Iraq to it own fate. This ugly war lost its popularity when the first car bombs went off in Baghdad and the coffins of our young men and women began to come home.

Except for the real kool-aid drinkers, people know that it was bin Laden who attacked this country and nothing is being done to go after him. That's as much the disgust with this regime and its war for profit. Ironically, two years ago any mention of this being a war for profit would get ridicule and one would be tagged "anti-American"...now that ugly truth is spoken more and more. A lot of that can be attributed to the $3 a gallon gas and messes created with Port security and the Mexican border.

This was a massive PR blitz strictly to energize the Repugnican base...it is a game this regime played in 2002 and 2004 by confusing the Iraq mess with the "war on terror"...which in turn is a war against Islam. This was strictly red meat for the rabid fundies and wingnut...the goon who do show up at the polls and pack the church buses...the extra votes in swing states that the balance of power in the house will be waged this fall.

Democrats need find a solid position here...rather than 8 different ones...that separates Iraq from going after bin Laden. It's also time to point out the profiteering that is going on here...not just the oil, but all the corruption that has seen billions of our tax dollars vanish down the rabbit hole.

10. The only bounce he got was from the media....
the majority of the public is not buying the bullshit they're selling anymore.

Bush has pissed away all of his credibility, just like he pissed away all of the good will towards the U.S. worldwide, with his arrogance and hubris.

16. A classmate (* supporter) was crowing about "we got Zarqawi"
so I said "great, he's the guy who ordered the planes flown into the towers, isn't he. Thank goodness we finally got him!" This woman looked confused and said, "I think so, no wait a minute..." I came back with "no, that was Osama bin Forgotten". We ended up having an interesting conversation about forgetting about bin laden to invade Iraq.

I have a hard time grasping the fact that some of these "backwash" * supporters are still clueless but some of them still are...
I talk to those I can & those I can't, I just say I'm one of those evil "libruls" they've heard about..

18. Makes you wonder how bad Bush's numbers REALLY are....
When a top Bush-shill makes a report like that, doesn't it?

Maybe Bill will get a phone call and re-analyze those numbers later on today. I would be shocked if he repeated that "no bump in the numbers" line again.
