1. Doggett?
Yes! I can't wait to see Walter Jones (R-NC) and Ron Paul (R-TX). Funny how the media completely ignores them. Funny fishy, not funny haha.

DeFazio up now...GO Big D!!!

3. Is he up for reelection????

Forgive me if I think this little staged discussion is an opportunity for the GOP clowns running to distance themselves from the Monkey, so they have a sound-bite for their commercials.

I smell Rove all over this charade, frankly.

On edit=If the guy is a Dem, good for him. But watch the Republicans...if they make harsh statements, odds are good they're running....

5. Sadly...
they diluted his Austin district during redistricting and he had to run in the newly created Texas District 25 which takes his campaign to towns from Austin all the way to the the Mexico border. They certainly tried to get rid of him, but it didn't work.

Get a load of this...

pasting the address in and going to the source-- http: // en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ Image:TX25_109.gif -- it looks like a friken SNAKE. How absurd. When will get back to having our politicians actually represent COMMUNITIES of people who live with one another?

Edit: when I posted the message, I got the X where I put the darn cite...so I put spaces in there, let's see if it works....anyone wanting to see it, best bet is to get the URL off the box and paste it in the address bar!

6. The Austin area has always been Democratic
Austin has had some repub reps but not many, mostly it's been a Democratic stronghold. Someone posted a note here a few days ago pointing out that the only elected repub judge in the area was going to switch parties to Dem. If they are from this area odds are they are for real.

Even outside of that they aren't the standard type repub sometimes, we've got an odd mix of old dixiecrat types, business libertarian types and social libertarian types. Ron Paul would fall into the social libertarian side, enough good there to believe he's thinking for himself a lot of the time at least but enough bad to be wary still.
