Shrub suddenly declares war on his little lapdogs, the press
Edited on Fri Dec-30-05 05:38 PM by librechik
somehow, I don't think this NSA NYT investigation will work in his favor...isn't he shooting himself in the (corpotate supported) foot?

If this Justice Dept probe doesn't disappear (note the deliberate attempt to make the investigation look independent of the WH, like it's just the normal wheels of justice turning) Shrub will find himself facing a tsunami of dissent from the very people who have been rolling out the red carpet for him. There will be a couple of martyrs sitting in jail a la Judith Miller for us liberals to whine about and no protection from the Republican Congress--they don't have the law on their side, and it's an election year.

I think he really stepped in it. Big Time.

1. Didn't I just read somewhere that the W.H. is DENYING that
such a probe is taking place? Which would of course pretty much be a clue that it IS taking place.

2. exactly
NOBODY is going to buy that little "I'm sure an investigation is in the works" remark last week during Shrub's press conference (hula jaw and bbbbblinking like mad) as anything but a diversion--he must've been throwing things and breaking furniture backstage over those Lib Media Traitors at the Times!!!

But after this, the media WON'T be on his side anymore (with some ov-bvious exceptions. And he's not going to like that!
