The guy co-sponsors a bill about the Ten Commandments and doesn't even know them. Priceless.

It's normally some variation of, "Thanks for taking time away from (fill in blank) to speak with me." This time it was something like, "Thanks for taking time away from keeping the Sabbath Day holy to speak with me."

I don't think Westmoreland was amused.

I think the wording is bear false witness and that is not the same as not lieing. He could not even name three correctly.

We laughed our asses off at that. Nothing but a panderer, that guy.

He's getting a raise?????

Want the Big Ten posted everywhere: they can't freaking REMEMBER them.

Maybe they should post copies of the Constitution everywhere. They might start remembering bits and pieces of it then.

and someone says they object to gay marriage on religious grounds, I like to sometimes quiz them on The Ten Commandments.

NOT ONE of those allegedly "religious" people could name all of them-- let alone in order.

By the way, don't try this on members of the clergy or on Chasidic Jews. They WILL know all of them-- in order.

Instead, try pointing out to them that the VERY FIRST Amendmednt to The Constitution nullifies the first four of the Ten Commandments.

I just wish it would carry over to the rest of his GOP colleague's and that the voting public would figure it out.

You would THINK that after Michael Moore pulled this same stunt during an episode of The Awful Truth ( 7/26/2000 episode 210) , the Congresscritters sponsoring Ten Commandment bills would take the time to LEARN them.

For the record, the 8th Amendment reads: "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted."
