Man questioned for acting strangely around the vice president
Odd actions near Cheney prompt arrest
Man questioned for acting strangely around the vice president

BEAVER CREEK – A man was arrested by Secret Service agents when he tried to approach Vice President Dick Cheney in Beaver Creek Village yesterday afternoon, said Secret Service spokesman Eric Zahren.

Cheney was walking outside when the agents charged with protecting him noticed the man, identified as Steven Howards, who “wasn’t acting like the other folks in the area,” Zahren said.

“His behavior and demeanor wasn’t quite right,” Zahren said. “The agents tried to question him, and he was argumentative and combative”

Authorities did not describe Howards’ behavior in any further detail.

1. maybe howard was throwing up, crying, screaming uncontrollably
glaring, sneering (mirroring that cheney sneer), pointing, ignoring, something other than smiling and waving and blowing freakin kisses.

maybe he looked cross-eyed at cheney

maybe he was black, or gay, or wearing a hunting vest....???

gee--there are just so many reasons to arrest someone around cheney!

but, in actuality, steven howard was probably wearing a "i voted for kerry" button on his lapel

10. Was he wearing an orange jacket, and hiding behind a tree? Acceptable
behavior.

8. unlike the other members of Unka Dick's handpicked crowd
Howards was reportedly not drooling

Investigators also report uncovering the alarming fact that Howards has never shot anyone in the face with a shotgun

9. nonconformity is now a crime
Edited on Sat Jun-17-06 05:03 AM by ima_sinnic
. . . if it's any consolation, nonconformity was almost a crime in the 1950s. Then the 60s happened.

11. Did authorities have to wait hours before questioning the man
like how law enforcement had to wait hours to ask questions about the events leading up to Cheny shooting a man in the face?

13. The man never did anything wrong!
Edited on Sat Jun-17-06 10:06 AM by dogday
Never approached the VP, never talked to the VP, never made any gestures to the VP...

He was just acting strangely, and yet they don't say what he was to doing to constitute their detaining him..

I would say this is the worst case of Civil Rights Violation I have ever seen in my life..

Imagine being arrested for not acting like the other people act....

Never thought I would see the day this could happen in America.....

Now this man here is acting strangely
