Move over Big Dog!!! Chimpy is the new "comeback kid"!!

On NBC's Today, Smerconish cherry-picked stock and Iraq data to crown Bush the "new comeback kid"

Summary: On NBC's Today, Michael Smerconish selectively cited the stock market's performance and cherry-picked favorable data from a New York Times op-ed to claim that President Bush was making a "comeback." In fact, the Dow Jones industrial average has headed downward dramatically in recent weeks before experiencing a partial recovery in recent days, and other data cited in the Times op-ed led its authors to conclude that "it is increasingly hard to describe Iraq as a glass half-full."

During a panel discussion featuring Democratic strategist James Carville and moderated by guest host Campbell Brown, Brown asked Smerconish whether people will "look back" on the past week as "the week President Bush got his mojo back." Smerconish responded that Bush was "the new comeback kid" -- a reference to former President Clinton's onetime nickname in the press -- and stated that "the market just had the best two days in the last three years." He later asserted that it has been "an extraordinary week and month for the president," given the performance of the stock market and other news favorable to Bush.

2. This administration can almost stake claim to...
... "One step forward, two steps back"... If the Stock Market drops 100pts, and only gains back 25pts, no way can that be misconstrued as a recovery... That is of course unless the Administration is still using VooDoo economics.

3. "BIG DOG" vs chimpy - now that's funny
Peace and prosperity and blow jobs and surpluses versus lies and death, destruction, despair, crime, deficits, and the attempt to destroy the constitution.

Yeah, sounds like a no contest to me.

4. Yeah! Not to mention the children shot "execution style" by Marines
Oh, wait, "Zarqawi" got blown up, so we're not supposed to talk about that anymore.

5. I guess he's enjoying the news on father's day.
There will be no "comebacks" for the 2500 kids killed unnecessarily in this tragic war he created.

6. Well Yeah....!
Look at the stunning success of FEMA, and the administrations efforts to rebuild the southern states impacted by hurricane Katrina.

The Republicans just won a crucial race in San Diego, to replace the disgraced "Duke" Cunningham.
Nothing wrong happened there.

BUSH flew his ass to Baghdad, and as FOX NEWS portrayed it, "made a dangerous helicopter ride into the green zone" to wide acclaim so he could look the new prime minister "in the eye" and glimpse at his soul.

BUSH is indeed the "comeback" kid.

7. Toward the end of April the DJIA was at around 11,642, now it's at
11,014.55. It's 2 year low was around 9,749. The Dow was up 122.63 points, or 1.1%, for the week. So basically the stock market has done nothing for 6 years. I believe the DJIA was around 11,000 when B*sh came into office although I'm not sure. :puke: :grr:

12. Smerconish...
is a fart. here in Philly, he's on this reactionary 1210 AM "The Big Talker" station - it USED to be the CBS affiliate here with legitimate news and interesting and stimulating talk radio for decades. Now it's filled with...well, Coulter-esque assholes like Smerconish who's unbelievably gaining national attention. He's an overachieving moran who has no respect from anyone here worth a damn.

As an aside, a restaurant I USED to go to had a pic of the owner with Big Mike, and I told the hostess, a nice lady, that I wouldn't be back on principal, that although in general I could care less about the proclivities of owners of businesses here, the prominence of the picture was such that it was 'in your face' to the many liberals who frequent the place. It's his right to put up the photo, and my right to eat somewhere else.

17. These people raise sycophancy to a whole new level
Edited on Sun Jun-18-06 06:57 PM by Julius Civitatus
Let me get this again:

- Bush falls from 90% approval in 2001 to the low 30s... then recovers a bit to 37%

- The stock market falls over 100 points, then recovers a couple of digits...

Yup! Success! Comeback kid! Bring out that champagne!!! The pundits want to celebrate their adored hero.

Truly, these media pundit motherf#ckers truly love their Dubya, don't they.

Sickening!

:puke:
