Well, that settles that.
I just saw the show Lie Detector on the i channel, and the guest was James Guckert, aka Jeff Gannon. Was he a secret White House operative, or simply his own worst enemy? Turns out, the lie detector test showed that he's his own man! Yes, he was not fed questions from the Bush administration! So, there you have it - incontrovertible proof. Yes indeedy.

Next up, did John Kerry endanger the lives of those on his swift boat crew, or were the Swift Boat Liars full of crap? (I kid you not, that's the next test). I don't believe I'll stick around long enough to watch that one. :eyes:

1. Good Fucking God.
I was channel surfing and WOAH!! Isn't that JimmyJeff???? What a wussy ass voice for Mr. Stud, eh? What the Hell is that I channel anyway, I never saw it before. Guess I haven't turned the TV on in awhile. I didn't watch it but a minute - could just tell he was being portrayed as a Journalist and figured that woman would not bring up his Night Job as a Prostitute.

Yech.

14. I saw this show sometime last year while surfing around.
It was on a fundy god-squad channel. Very poorly produced. And very unbelievable.

2. Why didn't they just have a psychic probe his mind?
Or use reverse speech to gain the truth? Just about as effect as a lie detector test. It shouldn't even be called a lie detector test, it should be a human detector test. "Are you a human? Yes Well the needle moved he's telling the truth."

3. it's not really a lie detector, it measures how nervous you are
Edited on Sun Jun-18-06 05:36 PM by MissWaverly
I read somewhere that if you are really zonked out on meds, it's not accurate

5. That's what I heard too. Doesn't work if you're comfortable with the lies
you're telling or actually believe them to be true either.

You can also show up as lying even when you're telling the truthif you're nervous or feel a sense of guilt over something that happened accidentally (family/friend of a suicide, SIDS, etc).

I thought lie detectors were no longer allowed as evidence in court due to their being so unreliable? Apparently some twit thinks this stuff makes good TV? ::sigh:: There are days when I really miss having satellite and being able to watch various shows... this is not one of them.

Ha, ha, why don't you get satellite radio, it's 10 bucks a month, or I think it's 7 if you
get it through your computer, I get c-span through sirius.

7. Where we live it's dial up only and horrible lines at that. Never really
thought about satellite radio. $10. isn't too bad if I could get some more news like C-Span. I'll have to do some hunting to see how the prices run for a cheap radio.

Right now we're limited to just PBS and CTV.. sometimes CBN too. We're on the US side of the Canadian/US border near Ottawa so we get Canadian stations in better then "local" US. In a way this is a plus... we get to hear a non-US POV and reporting on issues US news avoids or down plays. B-)

Thanks for the cool suggestion. :)

9. I got my radio on e-bay, bought the receiver new
the radio is a boombox type, I have heard people say that they can't get good reception,
I think that is for 2 reasons, one is the radio itself has a button called "source" if you
press it, the sound does not work, no matter what you do until you press it again, and second, they put a decal on the receiver so that you cannot see actual station until you peel it off. I had no trouble with reception and I live in a rowhouse. I thought receiver would be a complicated gizmo but you just slide it in place, it's no harder to put in than a vcr tape.

10. eBay can be a great place to get decent prices as a buyer & a seller. :-)
I have quite a few friends that sell on ebay, I'll ask around and see if any of them sell satellite radios although I'll check Sears and Radio Shack as well. They're often a bit higher in price but I love their warrenties.

It sounds like you really like yours overall. Sirrius seems to be the one I hear of the most and it sounds like they have a good subscription price too. B-)

11. Well, yea, but they don't have Air America
but they do have Howard Stern, C-span, and Talk Left and they also have wide selection of
entertainment options: like a channel that plays old radio shows like the Shadow.

12. I can easily live w/o Stern but you got my attention with the old radio
shows... I grew up listening to "re-runs" of things like "The Shadow", etc on WGY in Schenectady, NY. I love that stuff and even have a small collection of old 78 records. B-)

I'd like to hear Air Americ though... it sounds so interesting when folks here talk about it so that's somthing to think about I suppose.
