"Today, Congressman John Murtha continued to demonstrate an inability to comprehend that surrendering the central front in the War on Terror is not a strategy to defeat the terrorists. Murtha Democrats believe America can't win in Iraq by taking the fight to the terrorists on the ground, but seem to think retreating and fighting from places like Okinawa can achieve victory. John Murtha can focus his attacks on the Commander-in- Chief, however President Bush and Republicans will focus on taking the fight to those who intend to do us harm." -- Danny Diaz, RNC Deputy Communications Director

As for using Okinawa as a backdrop for the excuses, it should just how little these chickenhawks know not only about war, but even the reasons for the battles...

One similarity with the Okinawa battle and this war occupation is that an estimated 150,000 Japanese civilians died. That's probably close to the number of Iraqi we have killed so far.

The violence in Iraq is coming from Iraqis, whose lives were torn apart by the invasion in 2003. There were no al Qaeda in Iraq. This Administration has exaggerated and lied about the extent of the al Qaeda presence in Iraq, so as to make George W Bush appear that he invaded Iraq because they were infested with al Qaeda terrorists. It just isn't so. They are lying again.

Was Murtha's mention of Rove calling the shots while sitting on his rear in some air conditioned office. It is not Roves kid that will be killed was another part I also liked.
