WOW! Rabbis, Imams, Christian Priests in Israel/Palestine in united stand!
Edited on Mon Jun-19-06 10:21 AM by HamdenRice
I was just listening to a radio broadcast on Pacifica Radio, and a guest from Israel reported that recently the major Rabbis, Muslim clerics and Imams, the patriarchs of the Armenian and Greek Orthodox Churches and the representative of the Vatican, all got together to take a united stand! She said that many of these people, up until that moment would never have tolerated being in the same room together.

Unfortunately, the person reporting this, a GLBT activist, reported that the cause of this unprecedented unity was not a call for peace, but to denounce an Israeli/Palestinian gay pride rally called Love without Borders, or something to that effect.

Isn't it great? These religious leaders cannot unite for peace and reconciliation, but they can unite for bigotry and sexual repression.

3. they did this last year too
let's take a look at all the religions involved:

Words coming from *some* Muslim leaders concerning Jews are equivalent to what Hitler said 70 years ago, and hatred of gays.
Words coming from *some* Christian leaders regarding Jews and Muslims involves both going to Hell for not accepting their Lord, and hatred of gays.
Words coming from *some* Jewish leaders involve killing every last Muslim in the Middle East, and quoting the Book of Leviticus (the blueprint for gay bashing).

These three religions are disgusting in their rhetoric, and nobody should be surprised that Muslim, Christian, and Jewish leaders are being bigots and sexually repressive assholes.

servants who go about their lord's work with humility and dignity.

Yes, we expected better news from Israel.

I hear there are some mixed religious leader groups in Israel who do seek peace.
