Bush's gut feeling on Maliki is positive
"He puts faith in an Iraqi leader whose success may define a U.S. presidency"

Title of article on MSNBC.

As if THIS will be the thing to define his presidency (*rolls eyes*).

His pResidency was defined years ago.

3. He did, and Malaki undoubtedly thought he was being sized up
as a mate.

Given the predictive qualities of Stupid's gut, I think we can all conclude that Mr. Malaki is scum.

13. without a doubt, I'm certain he thought he did!
seeing as how raisin brain is soooo in touch w/ his own feelings.

As IF!

His ability 2 judge character is evident by the cabal saurove has assembled 2 surround the banana republic dictator.

All he can do is call up his own inadequacies and project them onto which ever hapless soul happens 2 be standing next 2 him.

4. All joking aside...
I really hope this Maliki guy can stabilize the country. Iraq has been hurting for WAY to long.

6. True enough
But given this administration's track record of backing various crooks, thugs and ne'er-do-wells in Iraq, if Maliki does actually have a positive influence in Iraq, it will be more by chance than by any conscious design. And isn't it kind of disturbing to be conducting foreign policy and staking other people's lives on the gut feeling of a man with such a demonstrably bad track record of decision making?

10. He's in the wrong profession

His true calling is to make it to the final table of the World Series of Poker.

Too bad in reality he wouldn't make it past the first table.

Dubya: "I've got a full house!"

and he proceeds to lay down six uno cards.

11. You gotta remember though...
Maliki isn't US appointed like the earler transitional government. He was chosen by the Iraqi lawmakers who were elected by the Iraqi people. Just because Bush backs him now doesn't mean we should discount him too early.

9. Well, Malik is the arabic word for KING
About the only way he'll be able to do that is with a "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss" strategy. Iraq is no longer a country, it's three countries, all fighting for control and power.
