Daily Kos is a privately owned forum.

The Admins of a forum can make whatever rules they wish, but people should be aware the forms censorship can take on these sites, and decide for themselves if that where they want to be.

At least DU let's us have the dungeon, excuse me 9-11 forum. Come on down and visit. It's not as crazy as people try to make it out to be down there.

I've grown tired of Kos' mealy-mouth, self-important, Kerry-bashing horseshit long ago.

Watching him on video recently confirmed my suspicion that he's the wrong person to represent the "progressive blogosphere" as a spokesboy. The guy gives me the creeps, so I can only imagine what he does to those are dipping their feet in the water as they try to escape their former "Raygun Democrat" schtick.

Kos is WAY OFF on not questioning the 2004 election story or what happened on 9/11. That's just lazy and stupid. The two biggest horror stories (along with the 2000 election) to possibly ever try to destroy American freedom are not to be discussed? Fucking candy-assed cretins...

It's like saying the British are OK back in the American Revolution...

Markos has always said he wanted the focus of dKOS to be on the election of truly progressive Dems.

And if he doesn't want to get sidetracked into subjects he'd rather not devote his energy to, then fine.

But a lot of his site are the diaries of members and I don't think he exercises much control over them.

But an outright ban, even on other's opinions, does seems wrong.

I did see that FDL featured a picture of him in uniform from his army (marine?) days.

But being an ex-Repub doesn't automatically mean some sympathy for the current crop of psychopaths.

He made a good site, was anti-Iraq war from the start, got a VERY large number of Democrats united as a political force, and raises money and media focus for various liberal, (or at least anti-DLC), candidates. Kos wants to be respected, and given his reader base and clout, he has succeeded. Even entertaining such notions skates on the edge of political irrelavancy, and he doesn't want to tie his credibility to the idea that he can convince the American people that our government is directly responsible for 9/11. But he does good work, more than most, attacking the DLC, Republicans, and encouraging Democrats to be more aggressive in attacking the Bush administration. Someone else can take on this fight, Kos's leadership against Lieberman alone is enough to earn my respect.

I'm not questioning his "motives"...one just wonders why a true "progressive" would put an end to posting about election fraud...

There has been talk about screwing with the internet already as most must know by now . I may be way off but the way these criminals work which is always behind the scene and always underground through some sort of trap door spiders burrow . This being their MO it appears to me that this is one of their ways of scrubbing the internet away , I can't use the word clean here because they have no idea what that relates too .

This worries me mainly because whether the BCF has a hand in this or not it is another way of killing free speech .

Every single day something else comes along to raise more concern for the left of center people and it does not seem to slow at all . Look at Mikes show tonight and other nights where he has a blog entry and by the time he is on air something has come along to steer the subject , this has to be difficult to deal with and Mike certainly does a fine job handling curves . He is the only voice of outrage there is , that can be heard , and we are fortunate he offers this , no one else will .

It's getting to the point to where there almost seems to be a need for a backup to the websites most of use visit , not to replace them but just in case one day they are eradicated by some neocon efforts how would people re-connect ?

Ah yes, Markos. The New Democrat who supposedly hates the DLC. The "progressive" who is clearly promoting Warner '08 and centrist candidates like Jim Webb. The man who claims that "Democrats need to stand for something" yet openly admits he doesn't care about the ideology of a candidate so much as his/her tendency to shoot off at the mouth.

I can think of no bigger hypocrite on the left than Kos. He created a site that is only successful because it allows others to create diaries, and suddenly his inane, self-contradictory punditry is taken seriously and represented as the face of the left blogosphere. No thanks.
