Data loss/theft is huge issue

The stories continue to mount up...

State Comptroller’s Office: State Employee Personal Information Lost

Albany (WSYR-TV) - The State Comptroller’s Office says a computer cartridge containing the personal information of 1,318 state workers was lost while it was being moved by courier from the State Comptroller’s data center in Rensselaer to the State Office Building Campus in Albany.

The information included the workers’ names, gross salaries, social security numbers, and home addresses.

This problem is not random or coincidental....call me paranoid but I check this website daily. Something is going on that bears very close scrutiny.

1. what's going on? Part accident, part espionage, and part organized crime.

The NSA has been vacuuming up personal data. So are others.

2. Every single day somebodies data is "lost"

And it is inconcievable that I have better encryption on my system than the governemnt runs on theirs. They can't get their hands on twofish?

3. Wow, my husband who isn't much into these types of thoughts has

been saying the same thing. He's had his records stolen three different times from different sources since the beginning of the year.
