Roberts claimed he wanted to have more consensus on SCOTUS

decisions when he was nominated for the Supreme Court.

He doesn't appear to be making much headway. Based on a quick review of recent cases at http://jurist.law.pitt.edu/currentawareness/ussupremes.php:
Rapanos v. US and Carabell v. Army Corps of Engineers 4-1-4
Samson v. California 6-3
Hudson v. Michigan 5-4
House v. Bell 5-3 (Alito wasn't involved)
Garcetti v. Ceballos 5-4
but Hill v. McDonough, S.D. Warren Co. v. Maine, DaimlerChrysler v. Cuno, Brigham County v. Stewart, and eBay v. MercExchange are unanimous.

1. I think that when he refers to "consensus", he means that the other 8

agree with him, i.e., no dissents, no concurring opinions. 9-0 with Roberts writing the opinion (as dictated by Cheney).

2. yeah, it seems like he is telling the other eight, you had all better be

on board (sort of a, "supreme court mock court because i rule here and you all better rubber stamp what i say", kind of thing...more of bush's dictatorship which is fast growing.
