Thirteen Iraqis killed in alleged US raid on poultry farm
Edited on Tue Jun-20-06 07:02 AM by bigtree
BAQUBA, Iraq 20/06/2006 15:02

Thirteen Iraqis working in poultry farms in a village near the restive city of Baquba were killed during overnight US raids in the area, Iraqi police and a rights organisation said Tuesday.

The workers had been sleeping in the fields of Bushaheen village in an area known as Al-Salam (peace), some 90 kilometres (55 miles) northeast of Baghdad, said an Iraqi police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity.

He said that in addition to the 13 killed, four others were wounded and 10 people arrested.

The report was backed up by Hadi al-Azzawi from a human rights organisation in the restive city of Baquba, while the main hospital in the city said it had received 13 bodies.

Hussam Shamel, a farmer in the area, told АFР that two of his brothers were killed, while his father and another brother were arrested by US forces.

5. They're all insurgents as far as our military is concerned.
even the twelve year-old boy who was mentioned in the article where the military calls them all insurgents

7. we will all pay heavily in this illegal occupation
a waste of human life for us and for those innocent civilians, they were not asked to be invaded. This is just sick, look at what we have become? a nation of torture and dominance and utter ignorance and arrogance. Not in our name.

4. you can get eyewitness accounts with names and all in the foreign press

but ours . . . nothing but mouthpieces for the Pentagon and WH

basically our soldiers go into this Iraqi town, armed to the teeth and threatening, with a story about al-Qaeda in the area. Most Iraqis are armed so our troops coming under fire doesn't make these men terrorists or al-Qaeda, it's just a reflection of an occupying army that's worn out its welcome. Likely just farmers in the group, not about to let themselves be trampled or taken hostage by the invaders. Any other version smacks of the same lies that keep our boots firmly on the Iraqis' throats.
