"In the wake of his June 13 primary win over Harris Miller, former Navy secretary James Webb (D) has added eleven percentage points to his support in a match-up with incumbent Senator George Allen (R)."

1. That'd be so sweet if allen went under
I still don't think it will happen, but I'll send Webb money.

note: I didn't think Lamont had a prayer either and I sent him money. It looks like I was wrong about Lamont having no prayer -- maybe I'll be wrong again (I hope)

2. Incumbent still above 50% and a political wash in terms of ideology
the only plus is that Webb would caucus with the Dems...

I don't see how Allen loses this race... Feel free to prove me wrong.

3. Polling 40% against a rightwing senate favorite
only days after winning the primary is a good start. Most voters won't start paying attention for a few more months, and lets hope that Webb turns them on.

Keep in mind that a few months ago everyone was thinking Allen would coast to re-election, just as Lieberman would coast to re-nomination in the primary. That isn't quite the case anymore.
