There will be no deadline for pulling out
of Iraq becuase there will be no pulling out of Iraq.

There will be a permanent US presence in Iraq.

Since elections in the US are pretend exercises in democracy, any candidate who intends to end the occupation will be marginalized. Hillary might be allowed to be president to placate the democrats but she wouldn't be allowed to president if she intended to change course.

The end result will the end of the American expriment in representative democracy and the rule of law. What began as wonderful idea was corporatized into oblivion.

Just as Afghanistan broke the back of the USSR, so will Iraq lead to the demise of the US. The treasure that has been spent there until now is a drop in the bucket. The US will be completely bankrupted because of this occupation.

Read more in the book Imperial Hubris. Its not a pretty picture.

1. Well, I've heard the British, Australians, and Japanese are "cut and run".
Down there in their little slice of heaven...

Will move to a "support role".

I'll be glad when the Dems reframe these actions as a "Disengagement".

3. So....Which Countries Are Still Representative Democracies?
Where is it safe for former Americans to go where they have the same rights they had a few years ago? Was America the best of the best, and now more in line with other restricted Democracies, or are there still options out there for "freedom" lovers?

8. The urban centers are very dangerous
the outlying areas appear to be safe and calm. I believe Brazil has also announced that they will be free of oil dependence in 15 years

9. We didn't build 14 bases and our largest embassy anywhere with
"leaving" in mind. At least not until the oil runs out...
