Obama? Bayh? Clinton? How about A LEADER for president!
Why are there so many contenders for president and so few leaders?

Shouldn't the president be a leader first and foremost?

Our nation is facing a crisis unlike any other in it's history. These are the times that heroes are made. Any politician that has been hanging back, waiting for the wind to blow to change their opinion, trying not to upset anyone and therefore enabling the Bush administration...is NOT A LEADER!

Now I ask my fellow DUers...who has been standing strong against the injustices that this administration has committed against our country?

4. Yep
Feingold is really the only guy who has stood firm amid all of the shit and madness. Only senator to oppose the hideous "Patriot" Act. For that alone he is to be lauded.

6. I have definately warmed to Feingold a great deal
I have been pondering the question of 2008 a great deal recently and I have found myself gravitating more and more towards Feingold over any other. I personally would like to see John Edwards and Feingold team up on a ticket, maybe even a Kerry/Feingold if needed.

I believe a lot of southerners would like Feingold a great deal if they were exposed to more of him and his ideals.

10. Kucinich led the effort in the House to vote against the patriot act
He also led 126?? democrats to vote against the war in Iraq (note: it was not Pelosi, Murtha or Conyers)

Dennis also led the very few that voted against the Iran Freedom Support act(note: Pelosi, Murtha, Conyers voted FOR it)

Feingold is great in the senate, but not sure on his leadership abilities.

5. Because all the top candidates we are looking to
come from a body where they need to be able to fall in line and form a concensus. Frankly, I want someone from outside that cesspool known as the Beltway.

7. Because true leaders can only be thrust into leadership
by the people. True leaders rarely proclaim leadership.

9. That would be my choice!
Voted for him last time at our caucus. He has stood alone when he had to and he always does the right thing for people. Great picture.

18. Wesley Clark. He hasn't been hanging back but has
been out there working to get Dems elected across the U.S. And much as I enjoy some things about Kucinich, Kucinich has only played leader on a very small congressional district stage. After leading NATO in Kosovo, leader of many nations, becoming president of the United States is almost a step down.
