Pod stands for Preserve Our Democracy

This is an ACTIVISM group and requires time and committment. It is NOT just a discussion group. About the group:

1. Develop a education program for grass-roots volunteers to present to their communities on the current state of the American election system. Specifically, this will cover the problems with unsecured, hackable voting machines, deliberate attempts by certain groups and individuals to disenfranchise minority voters, Republican refusal to allow election reform legislation come to the floor, etc...

2. Develop a network of volunteers to:

Meet with democratic and progressive community leaders to join our cause. Work with leaders to give exposure to our cause and develop solutions for creating secure elections.

Present the program to communities nationwide, and get the American public active in reclaiming a transparent, verifiable, and accessible voting system.

This group will require people who are willing to work together to brain-storm, problem-solve, resource, and network on the local, state, and national levels. We need volunteers from all fifty states. I am looking for a state leader who recruit county and city leaders.

It is important to remember when joining that we are seeking to develop a factual, objective, and resourceable program to give our cause credence and credibility. If you are interested, please join the group and add me to your friends list. I am hoping to have a network in place by the end of 2007 to implement the actual program.

Please go to the web link at the top of this post (cut and paste it into the address bar if it won't link directly).

Thanks everyone!

If you think this is a good idea, please consider joining. Also, keep the post k&R, so it won't fall to the bottom of the page.

4. a couple of friendly suggestions
1. Broaden your focus as defined in this post. "Fraud" is only one aspect of the problems with the "election" system. PM me if this isn't clear.

2. Check out the new organization called Election Defense Alliance. http://electiondefensealliance.org/ Might be a way
for you to do what you want to do with the support and expertse ths group offers.

Hope your efforts are very successful!

5. There was a meeting at the DNC today. Here are two posts.
Not much up yet about it. You might want to see more of what they covered. Christine Pelosi was there, so it will get some coverage sooner or later.
