Why Bush to Pardon Libby? Libby Greymail/Discovery Discussed on Olbermann
Edited on Tue Jun-20-06 07:50 PM by wordpix2
Discussed on K.Olbermann/Countdown tonight between Keith and Lawrence O'Donnell, 3 main things about Libby case:

1) Libby is rich and doesn't need the $27 million Bush raised for him last night for his legal defense. (My question: how'd he get so rich?)

2) The fund raising is all about gathering around the BushCo team to test a "trial balloon" (my pun) for a Bush pardon for Libby.

3) BushCo is worried about the discovery from all the Libby greymail---official docs requested by Team Libby to "prove" Libby was too engrossed in Iraq matters to even consider Wilson-Plame seriously.

I'm sure BushCo's thinking, damn, this Plameleak just won't go away. Enough with the discovery of official documents shedding light into the "reasons" to go to war. :eyes:

2. no one seems interested in this thread, I don't know why. I think this is
important, people should wake up to the reality that Libby might be pardoned soon unless there's a hue and cry.

4. Can't pardon someone unless they have been found guilty of a crime.
At least that is what I thought. Libby has not been found guilty of anything, he has only been charged. That is what the trial is for.

3. I think they're thinking
that they're probably doomed either way, but that pardoning Libby offers them some hope of still sliding out from under this. I don't think a pardon's going to fly with the public, though, even if we don't win back one or both houses in the fall.
